I'm having a difficult time applying what I've learned into these word problems. I was wonderin if anyone would like to give me hand? ----------------- You may ask me and your classmates for help, however, all work must be your own. A player of a videogame is confronted with a series of four opponents and an 80% probability of defeating each opponent. Assume that the results from opponents are independent (and that when the player is defeated by an opponent the game ends.) Use a simulation to find the probability of every possible outcome. Then figure out the same probabilities using our methods from Chapter 5. The questions below will guide you in your discovery. 1) We want to know what can happen when the player confronts four players. Use the random number table to simulate the outcome from forty different sets of four games played. a) What is your scheme for associating the digits of the table? (Complete sentence.) b) Where are you going to start on the random number table? (Complete sentence.) c) List your results from the random number table in the first column and interpret those results in the adjacent column? Random # Table Outcome Random # Table Outcome d) Next to each game scenario above, make yourself a numerical data set by writing down the number of games lost. So you should have forty data points. e) Fill in the frequency distribution table below from the data set you just made. We can do this a little different than we did before because we don’t have intervals. Data - # of losses Frequency Relative Frequency Total Thanks a bunch
I didn't realize this was yahoo answers where everyone else goes to have other people do their homework for them
