So im hoping to take the big plunge in a couple of months and set out for British Columbia from Saskatchewan, most likely during the months of July and August. Possibly starting a well paid job right away so I might end up with some wheels too, but I am not sure if thats how I want to do it or not. But if anyone is up for a journey you are more than welcome, Im not really fond of hitching it alone. So if your interested PM me! I also want to add I love music so I will be bringing some type of instrument along. :guitarist: Also any tips, help, info on anything like good camping spots, good places to hitch, tips for the rails, and what is necessary to bring on a trip like this. or if you have done this journey and would like to share your stories that would be awesome too. Thanks for the help!
There's lots of great places to check out in BC... really depends on mode of transportation and $ situation though. Vancouver Island and any of the smaller gulf islands are great.
Just hitch hiking on the cheap is the plan.:2thumbsup: I will be leaving Saskatoon, and heading to Calgary, then ride the Trans Can to Kamloops and down into Vancouver. Im hopping a ferry to Mayne Island, then hopping another ferry to Salt Spring Isle after a little time in Mayne. Then mid-August I will need to be on Vancouver Island for a get together where I will have the choice to come back to Saskatchewan, stay in B.C, or head south for the colder months. Thank-you!
No kidding, my plans changed a little and I think im going to try 'Wwoof'ing in August, So Late July is when im going to head out. If you want some company that would be right on. How are you traveling?
Where exactly are we meeting? haha Thats wicked,I pretty much have the same plan. I assume you will be traveling the Trans Canada most, if not the whole way? Since im up in Saskatoon I am unsure if I am going to head west from here to Calagary then take the trans Can to Vancouver, or head south to Regina and take the Trans Can the entire way. Have you done this journey before? Also I was looking at my routes the other day and I dont want to spend much time at all in Vancouver, to big of a place for me, so I think im going to stay on the Trans Can and go through the city into north Van. and hop a ferry in horseshoe Bay to Maine Island or straight to Salt Spring. Seriously if you want a buddy to hitch with im the guy, I havnt found anyone I know down for the trip and its approaching pretty quick.
