Pinterest Anyone?

    I was wondering if anyone is interested in having a link to Pinterest on each post? It will require a link and some java code loading from Pinterest on each page of the site.

    If you already have a Pinterest account, you'll probably like this feature.

    I'm not sure yet how secure it is, but I saw a story on Pinterest and they are now the THIRD largest social network after facebook and twitter! They are supposed to be worth $8 billion, and they have only 30 employees! I can't think of any other company worth that much with so few employees...

    I hope not. Why would we want a connection to any network on every page here. Yes, I can imagine a couple of reasons as well... but obviously I do not dig it.

    It's tumblr with pictures with a higher chance of getting sued for stealing other people's photos.

    I can't fathom why anyone who's paranoid of Facebook would even consider this awfulness. At least FB has some networking value. This is just a glorified time waster.

    Well the reason I ask is there is a mod available that will take the first image or video in a post, add the text and post it on Pinterest. In other words it's designed specifically for vbulletin, and will work very well with it.

    Once a person copies their post to Pinterest they can have it also post to Facebook or Twitter, without coming from a direct link on Hipforums. So therefore it might be safer security wise than trying to "like" something on hipforums, and letting FB track your activities on here.

    I'm not sure how you can Pin something from this forum without a "Pin it" button on it. Pinterest isn't designed to work with forums, and won't do a good job without the mod I mentioned above. You're welcome to try to pin a post and see what happens... Note you MUST have an image in the post or it won't work at all. That's how Pinterest is designed.

    The 'Pin It' Button I have currently resides in my tool bar.
    I click it and every pic on this page becomes pinnable.

    So the difference would be that, instead of just lifting the pics, I would lift the whole post it came from?

    It would automatically select the one post, not the whole page. Tons of images on one hipforums page, but usually only one or a few in a post. So it would be much faster, just one click and you're done, unless there are multiple images in a post to select from.

    As you can see there are already people here using Pinterest, should there have to be other reasons to let ppl pin stuff from here?

    And I had just posted another reason, to be able to post to FB and Twitter without leaving a trail of your activities on Hip Forums on those sites.

    But not the video, nor machinist's avatar, nor any text? So you see it's not designed for forums, and without the mod, it's not going to work well.

    The video and Mach's are one page one. I was just looking at page two.
    If I go back to page one, I can get those.

    So pinning text seems to be the big bonus.
