    Ive read numerous books and articles about dreams...especially ways to find out if youre dreaming by certain clues around you. The one I disagree with the most, based on my example below, is the "look at a clock, if it changes time or the numbers change at multiple glances.." you'll realize youre dreaming.

    ex.

    I was shoved into a car by some gangster characters. I was in the backseat and these huge bodies were pressed against me. I looked at the clock, 3:14, it was dark out. The guys began to wrap their hands around my neck and strangle me. I proceeded to suffocate and choke for minute after minute after minute. I would close my eyes and think, "ok, ill look at the clock" I opened them and the time was the same. after about 5 seconds of watching the clock it changed finally, 3:15. The death went on for 20 minutes until I eventually died and woke up.

    In light of things I'm still wondering what the below dream means, please help;

    A pool party ,everyone's having a good time. I'm under the water and look up and see a girl about to jump in, I move out of the way so she can dive in, but I feel her body brush against mine as she goes in. I see her body go headfirst to the bottom of the pool and smash. I see the immediate plumes of blood. I surface and everyone's horrified by her teeth floating to the surface with the blood. No ones going to get her tho at the bottom. So I decide to go down to the bottom and bring her up to the surface. When I bring her body up and right before I surface it, she's turned into a HOT DOG.

    it kinda reminds me of this one dream I had where I saved a kid from drowning, brought him to the surface and he'd turned into a small jewelry trinket of a blue terrier dog. When I presented it to the father he was very happy.

    My brothers and sisters and I share our dreams with each other, and before we think about symbols we always ask "And how did you feel in this dream? How did you feel when you woke up?"

    You have some surreal stuff going on in these dreams; things happen that just do not happen in waking life. Drowning seems to be a common theme for your dreams.

    The interesting thing is that it isn't you drowning, but other people. You're unable to save the girl in the first dream, but she magically becomes a hot dog. You save another kid from drowning, but he is transformed into a trinket and his father is happy.

    Most dream books will tell you that when you dream of drowning, it means you're overwhelmed...maybe too much work, too much drama in your life, something along those lines. But if you have come close to drowning or have saved someone from drowning in waking life, that symbol can take on a very personal meaning.

    Maybe you want to be the hero that saves someone else. You don't pull out a person--you pull out a hot dog or a dog trinket.
