Does anyone else see a conection betweeen going barefoot and The Garden of Eden?

Hi Everyone-

Does anyone else see a conection between going barefoot and The Garden of Eden? For me, there is no greater feeling then absorbing the earth under my bare soles on a warm day. Upon further thought, that is what a stroll through the Garden of Eden must have felt like to Adam and Eve. I'd like to apologize for becoming philosophical...it won't happen again!

 

Don't apologize! I'd much rather read posts like this than the politicking and flame wars that seem to have taken over the forum lately.

I've not had a whole lot of belief in Eden or the creationist philosophy since I was a little tyke, but I wholeheartedly agree that feeling the warmth and the touch of the earth beneath our bared soles is one of the greatest joys in this world. And so metaphorically speaking, whatever your beliefs, you're absolutely correct.

 

Amen to that Matthew!!! Let's get back to talking barefoot'in!!

I very much agree here, the feeling of your bare soles in contact with the earth is like no other . I believe the world would be a better place if more people had the courage to shed the shoes and socks and be nature's friend for a day.

 

Earth Day would be a good day for everyone to give up their shoes and socks completely. Going barefoot is a very Earthy activity.

However, any day is good for this too.

 

I would rather annoy some shmuck out on the street or in a business by being barefoot rather than insult God by wearing shoes over the feet he gave me in his image and he gave me to walk on the ground he created for me to walk on barefoot. I would rather please him than worry about weither I offend somebody else, because by making me wear shoes they are basically insulting God's creation and insulting him and to me thats a sin.

 

I like going barefoot... but what's even better is going naked. Especially skinny dipping.

 

It is truly amazing to feel so close to the Earth by going barefoot. The fact that my feet toughen up the more I go barefoot really makes me feel like my body is in tune with nature. My body adjusts itself to its conditions just like nature does.

 

Skinny-dipping is awesome. To me, it feels almost like swimming in the warm waters we all grew in as we gestated. I think that feeling is what resonates in us when we swim naked in water... it's so close to being in the womb that it calls back our memories. Kind of like how the "fetal position" is such an instinct when one is under trauma. Nature is amazing.

I love being barefoot and/or being naked. Nothing is as pure.

Yeah besides noone needs swimsuits anyways, theyre gay and have no real purpose. Better to just swim nude and let all the prudes enjoy the view, they gotta see something else besides all the slutty stereotypical clothing they see on people everyday.

 

Amen to going nude. There is NO WAY that you can get closer to nature and God than being naked

 

Most days I love to walk across my fields barefooted and stark naked......
The strong feeling of the moist earth under my feet and the cool clean air on every part of my body enhances my feeling of harmony with nature.....
