Hey all, I'm Gabby. I'm from a small college town in West Virginia. I like it here, but I've lived here since I was about 10 and i'm 23. My dad works and travels, but I rarely get out and see the world. I've decided to take time off of college, because I'm having trouble figuring things out. I wondered if anyone had ideas, suggestions etc. for alternative ways to live and affordable ways to travel. I'm kind of stuck right now. I'm feeling pressured to join the work force, and I just want to live a little...or find freedom/some alternative progressive way to support activism and environmental sustainability. i don't mind working, but things are going slow right now. I don't have a car yet, either...and I don't have much money. Thanks
WWOOFing and CouchSurfing are both great ways to travel cheap. Give 'em a google. If you like the idea of WWOOFing, I can send you a copy of the directory. I've done it for a long time and highly recommend it.
http://www.findacrew.net/ go sailing with people for free....... people have suggested peace corps or military to me but, i dont necessarily like the idea, though the pay is good and ive tried getting into a couple programs.
There is always the idea of hitchhiking across the country, or in another country... but even then you would still want to have some savings before taking off.
rutz-new on the site, lol, today new. Like this wwoofing idea. don't know how this site works-so if you get this/see this would like to hear about your experiences
