This question is probably weird in itself :D but i've noticed this lately...

Me and my girlfriend literally talk 24/7, the second she wakes up she texts me good morning, or if i wake up first i text her. From there on out, we continue to text throughout the entire day until we see each other or talk online. Usually we wake up, start texting each other until we see each other at school, then we text each other when we're in different classes, then once school ends we continue texting each other until we get home and then talk to each other on facebook or msn, or until we go out again and see each other later on that night.

And our texts tend to be very long, everybody comments on how we're always texting each other and how they're insanely long texts... And the only time we aren't texting is when we're waiting for replies or are already talking to each other online or in person.

And this happens every day, 24/7, for over a year now! And we still never run out of things to say, and everyone we know, like all our friends, think it's so weird how we're always talking so much. But i find it to be even more weird when we're not talking!

Is anyone else like this with their boyfriend/girlfriend? I don't even understand how people just text their girlfriends/boyfriends a few times a day with just a few really short messages, we probably send each other a billion paragraphs a day :D

Just curious to see what others think about it haha :p

It is not unusual... My OH and I do it and we see each other easily as much or more than we don't.

Kinda bugs me that society conditions us that you are weird or "clingy" just for being talkative :(

I was kinda like that but didnt do it 24/7.
It's good that you guys dont run out of things to say, cuz i was tellin my friend that he text his girlfriend to much and there gonna eventually get into a little arguement, and sure enough, later that night they got mad at each other cuz they couldnt stop texting and eventually one of them said something stupid cuz they didnt have anything else to say.

I'm surprised we've never really been into an actual argument before! She's gotten upset with me a few times, but we've never actually argued, and she's always completely fine by the end of the conversation even when she does get upset!

But i'm always worried about running out of things to say, it hasn't ever happened yet, but that's always in the back of my mind, we talk so much we've pretty much talked about everything! But we tend to talk about things that have happened during the day and stuff, so i guess it's impossible to run out of things to say?

My boyfriend and I did that too before we moved in together. It would bug the hell out of my mom because she'd always want someone to blather on about work or whatever to and I was already occupied. We'd pretty much talk from when we woke up until we had to go to eat or shower until we went to sleep. Now we're together almost 24 hours in the day unless one of us has to work.

It's nice when you never get bored and you're that close to one another. It's been 2 years for us :)

i don't like texting anyone for more than like 10 back and forth texts - it gets too confusing and there are subtleties in my speech and communication patterns that don't translate to text - i often lose people when trying to text with them, or they get completely different messages than what i intended.

so - yeah, i think it is weird. but whatever floats your boat - if you two enjoy it. i just know that not only could i not TEXT that much, but i would probably just get annoyed talking to someone for that long.

i think it is also extremely rude to text on your phone in front of other people - especially continually doing so and it is one of my biggest pet peeves and young people tend to not understand that. i will avoid people if they hang out with me and text on their phone. if a girl does it that i am hangin out with, i will tell her that texting is dumb as fuck or at least hint that i want her to stop and actually be with me, not with whoever she may be texting.

^Agree. I didn't care too much to do it at home because my home life wasn't good. I didn't feel the need to be polite around my family. He kept my mind off shit.

But if someone I'm hanging out with constantly texts other people, especially while I'm talking to them- I will tell them it's fucked up and I will walk away if they do it again. One time, if it's important it's okay, but seriously. Phones are getting so ridiculous. Half the time when I go out, I don't even bring my phone. Everyone who's important is either with me or knows what I'm doing. I don't need a phone.

I don't think its weird at all. Every relationship is different. Communicating as often as you say is maybe less common in a relationship but hey ho if it works for you guys then it's cool. Glad to hear you don't argue too :)

I find with texting there is a lot of unnecessary miscommunication. I text my girl when need be or when I'm stoned and bored. I feel like the more you text someone the less you are going to have to say in person.

I think with texting, it is important to remember that you are only getting a sliver of the info that person on the other end is trying to convey. So chill out and don't take anything seriously.

In that case I can only concede that you're an asshole ;)

I've never understood text-a-phobia. Sure, doing it constantly in front of someone mid conversation is rude, that's just basic manners, but some of you just need to get used to the fact that its a modern method of communication! :)

it's a modern means of communication - doesn't mean i have to like it.

telegraphs were once a means of communication - but not everyone used it.

i just think texting is gay.
it IS easy. it IS convenient.
I just am sort of an antisocial asshole when I'm left by myself - it comes out that way whenever i use text. I am not that same way when I am talking or actually in person...usually.

    also cocks.

So What Does This Make Me....??

I Have Never Sent A Text In My Life, And When I Did Reply To One I

Found 3 Months After It Was Sent, I Did It By Phoning The Sender...:).

I Am Proud To Call Myself A "Textual Virgin"...[IMG].

Well glen, being the lovely person you seem to be I can't imagine you not replying out of malice. The poster I quoted worded their post as if they don't reply to their texts just to be an ass, which is just as bad manners as texting iin front of someone, and is tantamount to ignoring someone, I think...

Text, email, call or face to face, a bit of reciprocal common decency never goes amiss.

Well you also hang upside down from mother earth's crust and it's probably a miracle you haven't fallen off yet. :D

To the OP: Texting is completely antisocial. You can send anything and do not have to hear the answer.

Weird? Yes. Try an actual "voice conversation" for a change.
