About 1 year ago I began meditating and I fell in love with it... I have heard many suggestions on postures when you meditate and so far I have only heard negative things about sitting indian style... I have attempted a lot of other postures but they are so un comfortable that Its hard to focus on anything but the discomfort... I have heard that you can even meditate lying down but I dont feel enjoy it so well then. I also began doing yoga when I first began meditating and fell in love with it as well... I got some books and started practicing on my own... then I started attending bikram yoga ( which was great but,,,) but/... I search more for the spiritual and mental balance, then just strickly the physical ballance as I felt was kinda the basis of bikram... another concern I have is A mantra... I have practiced a few mantras but none that have stuck to me... how have some of you picked up on your mantra.

    hey brother.

I personally practice my own Yoga. To me yoga is meant to be the path/activity which helps you ascend to your original godstate/self-realized state.

I use commune (communing with the body/inner focus and harmonizing), prayer/surrender to higher self, diet, asana and breathwork.

I'm just beginning my yogic path now, after having read the first few books of the yoga sutras, and studying scriptures for sometime.
