Hi I have been on for a few days and have a couple questions if someone more experienced on here can answer then that would be great. I can't find a FAQ area and it could be that I need to go to Specsavers! I don't quite understand how I can send/receive private messages - read a few answers to same question but not sure if it related to time on here or number of posts made. I know I have not explained that very well but hope someone understands and will post a reply. Another thing I can't seem to work out is to put up an 'avatar' pic on my profile. I also wonder if it possible to change my user name as appears to others - soley as it does not really say much about me but that is secondary to the avatar pic. Hope someone can help. Just want to say that I think this is a very cool site and am so pleased to have joined. Thanks, in advance for any assistance anyone can give Darren x
I think you can only use PMs when you're a full member (after I think 20 posts). If you click on the User CP link on the top bar you can go to your control panel and change your profile as well as other stuff. Welcome. EDIT (19h41) - Hmm can't see a way to change the profile pic... Sorry.
Hi Darren and welcome. Like he says, you gotta becoem a Member to access some things ... and that takes both a certain time and a certain amount of activity.
Welcome to the show! 20+ posts and 5-7 days I think it is... Not all areas of the forum count posts so it may be more than 20 actual posts. Just hang in there, those things will start happening for you. Enjoy Hip!
Worked some things out but I still want to replace my avatar with something I can upload from my laptop - still not able to work that one out! Grrr lol
