Hello all, Used to frequent this site a lot but got *kinda* sober and backed off. Here again to ask an important question about interactions: I'm prescribed Wellbutrin for depression but have been feeling better lately so I give it to my girlfriend who needs it more than I do. She has been taking a lot over the past few days (generally swallowing 200mg-300mg XR orally and snorting an additional 100mg-200mg throughout the day) and today I took a single dose of 200mg XR orally in the morning to perk up, after not taking it for about 2 weeks. ANYWAY tomorrow we're getting cocaine for the first time and want to do it tomorrow night (we're getting a little over a gram and a half). I've done cocaine twice before, once on wellbutrin and LOADED on phenazepam (blacked out) and I got borderline psychotic, and one line a few nights ago and I was fine. My girlfriend has never done it before. Can anyone tell me if the dopamine actions of both cocaine and Wellbutrin interact in a negative or negating way? Obviously we're not taking any Wellbutrin tomorrow. Should it be out of our systems quickly enough where we don't have to worry about interactions? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as we can't find much information on this combination. Thanks
... Why? I don't think that's morally wrong at all. It's the only medication that seems to work for her and her doctor won't give it to her. I don't need it at this point and if it helps her what's wrong with that? Whether or not she snorts it is her prerogative. And yes, all interactions were checked thoroughly.
If anyone needs anti-depressants, or uses them at all, cocaine is among the last drugs they should take. Then again, pot is the ONLY drug, if even it, that someone who takes anti-depressants should take. It's sort of retarded, as common sense will tell you.
*sigh* We've been doing speed, opiates, weed, benzos, and drinking with no problems. This is just another experiment. Unless you have *actual* information about this combination please refrain from replying.
And those are all just as retarded. I'm not saying it will kill you. I think you have experimental info that shows it will probably not. I'm saying it's retarded, and will contribute to mental instability and chemical imbalances, and there's already obviously a problem with those, for people snorting anti-depressants. You don't sound like you should be on much, and she sounds like she should be on nothing.... recreational-wise. How can you NOT see this?
I fully understand where you're coming from. Wellbutrin is just more effective when snorted honestly it gives you a boost and helps you do what you need to do for the day. I've done it myself. It's just that, as you may know, drugs in general tend to be more effective when they're stronger, and pharmies aren't the most refined kind of drugs. Anti-depressants don't do much in certain people, including my girlfriend, so she tries other things that may help her more. And experience shows that they do. So why take the pills that don't help when we can get speed etc that do?
Because neurotoxic things like speed may well make the underlieing problems worse, especially in the long run. So will damaging dumps of dopamine, seratonin, etc.
We went ahead with our eperiment. Wasn't nearly as exciting as we had hoped. For her, the first line was the best, and after that she cut her lines too small (we had to split up after the first) and didn't get the effects she had wanted. For me, the second two lines were the best, with crystal clear euphoria and a sense of directness I've never really felt before. All in all though I don't really see what people rave about with cocaine, it kinda disappointed me. I was up quite late but sleep came more easily than I expected. We still have more than half of what we got, though, so we're going to get together first thing in the morning and finish it together during the day to see if anything new comes up. Doubt it though :-/ Definitely prefer something like MDMA which is way less subtle and much more euphoric.
If coke is more subtle than MDMA, you got some bullshit speed cut MDMA, or you got some bullshit baby powder cut coke...
I can't speak about the quality of the coke we probably paid way too much for some shit quality stuff. BUT, I know that the MDMA was great I've done it several times and I completely trust my connection. Evey time I roll my whole perception changes and I get minor visuals (nothing like LSD, but present) and EVERYTHING is just SO different in the most calm, euphoric, and peaceful way possible. I've done amphetamines and my MDMA experiences have been very, very different.
There's a reason the doctor doesn't prescribe it to her that you probably don't know about, like an underlying seizure disorder or history of suicidal ideation that can be exasperated with Wellbutrin. No one can tell you whether the combination will have a negative effect on your gf because body chemistry varies. For some, the cocaine would not have as much of an effect because the dopamine levels are already increased, others may have a siezure or black out. No one here can predict.
Ahh, sounds like MDMA. Which is, by the way, methylendioxyMETHAMPHETAMINE. (probably spelled that wrong) Just saying. It is an amphetamine.
cmon roorshack i KNOW MDMA contains the chemical structure for methamphetamine but that does NOT mean it has much similarity to it in terms of subjective effects!
Bupropion and Cocaine are both Dopamine and Norephinephrine Reuptake inhibitors. They also increase your chance of having random seizures. So please don't take them together.
Thanks etkearne that's what I was sort of worried about, and Wellbutrin can cause seizures on it's own and I was concerned about the fact that they both have a similar mechanism of action where the negative effects of both can be amplified. So, how long after stopping Wellbutrin would you think it's safe to use cocaine? I know it's not something you can know for sure but I know Wellbutrin tends to come in an extended release form and sometimes you have to take it twice a day so I would assume that the half life is relatively short. Is it a matter of days? Weeks?
