Glass rods and other heating devices.

So is there really that big of a difference in the amount of weed you conserve when smoking using a heated glass rod or when you use one of those weird electric rods you heat up? I figure my lighter hits the bowl for all of 4 seconds so the amount I waste with the hotter lighter would be so little. What do you guys think?

 

I have never used a heated glass rod or a electric rod. I have always thought it was more dangerous to have them around because you have to give them time to cool down.

I will just stay with my trusty Bic.

 

It's honestly just a way to get "purer" smoke.. meaning no added flavor from butane from using a lighter... it won't conserve... try beeline if you're looking for that more "pure" taste to your weed.. if you wanna conserve.. buy a vape.. if you're really interested in buying a vape.. i have two i'd be willing to sell ya.. mflb or ExtremeQ.. pm me if interested

 

Jokers right, its meant for the cannabis connoisseur, it doesn't really have anything to do with conserving weed...

However, they do wonders for the taste.. I have two glass rods I use all the time if I'm at home smoking a bowl. I'll either use a butane torch to heat a glass rod and light it that way, or use hemp wick soaked in beeswax.

I could never go back to hitting the bowl with a lighter :ack2: At first I thought hempwick and rods were kind of gimmicky and pointless but now that I haven't been using butane to light my smoke, my lungs are constantly thanking me. If I try to take a hit off a bowl with a bic now, I can taste the butane and the nasty shit in there.

I can literally be sitting in my living room next to somebody who's smoking with a lighter, and when they blow out their hit I can literally smell the noxious by-products from the lighter in their smoke....


I highly recommend Hempwick of some variety for connoisseur stoners out there ( I use thin-cut Humboldt Wick) who are looking to get the most out of top quality smoke. Glass rods work just as well, but are kind of a pain in the ass as they require a butane torch to get the rod hot enough to burn your bud... Not very convenient for on-the-go smoking.

 

maybe you guys smoke differently than me, but my lighter only touches the bowl for a couple of seconds to get it going, and then it stays lit for the rest of the session. only getting a little bit of butane at the start, not sure how you could taste it. i have tried the hemp-wick as well, and didn't notice a huge difference... it was fun though.
