Just heard on the news that the senate could not muster enough votes to end the 4 billion a year tax payer subsidies the oil companies receive. This in addition to the fact they have been making more profit the last few years than any other companies--ever! I'd like to get a list of the senators that caused this to fail.
Republicans this time... http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/_new...congress-to-kill-tax-breaks-for-oil-companies
completely hypothetical question... why the hell are oil companies getting subsidies? good god that gets under my skin.
Some of those social program cuts are in this very bill that gives the subsidies to big oil and more tax breaks for the rich... Must be something odd in that "Tea" they keep "Partying" with. Bastards!
Yup that's the problem , we never hold these "elected" yes men accountable for their actions . Just like we never held B.P. accountable for the oil leak they caused . I still see cars out the ass buying gas from those stations . No one gives a rats ass about anything anymore , and we wonder why things get worse and worse . Record profits and tax payer subsidies . And the bullshit magic word "speculation" that Iran may close the straight of Hormuz . After that some other " crisis". In dec. 2012 it will be more mumbo jumbo about speculation of the end of world is driving up oil prices to eight bucks a gallon . Blah ,blah ,blah . Got to love these bullshit words "speculation" or "derivatives ", which is so fucking confusing with insane formulas they themselves don't know what the hell it means . The old line is true if you can't dazzle them with brilliance , baffle them with bullshit . There's a sucker born every minute .
I think these "Speculators" need to take delivery of the oil they are bidding on. They say they will pay $108 a barrel, FINE! Deliver those barrels to their front lawn and collect the money. Asshats! Bullshit's gotta stop!
Two points: 1) These "tax breaks" are the same ones other companies can and do claim 2) Big Oil lost those breaks years ago. It's the smaller companies they were talking about.
