hey so i posted before about how i do not want to get pregnant and my bf and I are taking a bunch of pre cautions, hes probably going to pull out, use a condom, i've been on tri cyclen lo (on my fourth pack) and we are avoiding what would be my ovulation time also (i know i shouldnt be ovulating) so anyways i know we are veryy protected and been on b/c long enough and the replies in my other thread have re assured me more so. now we are planning to very soon and this has been something we have been talking about doing for months and months and months (been together over 3 years) sometimes things get in the way like family coming home earlier, tests ect. were it doesnt end up happening the day we planned so i think that might have contributed to this but i am sure im ready to lose it to him now. but sometimes im sooo sure i will but then even 3 hours later I'll get mostly worried about getting pregnant and my mood will completely change towards wanting sex does this ever happen to anyone on tri cyclen lo where one minute your craving sex then the desire for it just kind of goes. I dont have any problems ive noticed with the pills except i do get headaches i never used to hardly ever and sometimes my mood changes really fast more noticable then before the pill.. like I'll just all of a sudden take what someone says wrong and get all pissed lol or a joke wrong ect. anyone on tri cyclen lo have these mood swings, headaches and most of all im worried about how quickly my desire to have sex with my boyfriend changes.. i duno if this has to do with the pill or if its cause its starting to get to me that we keep planning on doing it then it doesnt happen (often my fault)
I lost my sex drive completely after a month of using the combined-hormone pill, not sure what you are using but I suspect it might be combined-hormone. When I switched to a progesterone-only pill (otherwise known as a Mini Pill, most common brand name is Cerazette) it came back within a few days. My flatmate (after using the combined-pill for YEARS) just recently came off it and switched to an IUS, and has discovered she has a really good sex drive all of a sudden, she never noticed she didn't really have one before so it wasn't completely gone, but she has noticed the difference. It is something they warn you about now. As oppose to years ago when they dished it out, because back then women were given it with no real thought by doctors and sexual health centers for a womans quality of sex life, and it was all about birth control. But now they talk about it more and indicate that loss of sex-drive is a side-effect of some pills. My advice to you is if it's bothering you, try some other form of contraception. If you are not keen on an IUD/IUS/Implant or condoms, then try another pill such as the mini pill. There are heaps of options for you. Good luck to you!
The pill screwed me up completely, I got it all - bad and irregular periods, mood swings, weight gain, cramps etc.
