Wow how sad this lady went into a emergency room with leg pain only to be arrested for trespassing. She was taken from the emergency room to jail and died of blood clots that were in her leg that moved to her lungs. As you read the article you learn that in 2010 her home was destroyed by a tornado and that may of been the reason she was homeless.

This is a good post but truely sad and fucked up.

I don't understand how they figure she was trespassing...
Because they didn't "find anything wrong with her?"
If i was her mom i would go that hospital and i would demand for the paperwork to prove they did the appropriate tests for the blood clots, that they really checked her legs and stuff.. If blod clots are that bad i don't see how they couldn't have found them...
And what? because she was homeless and lost their home? What about her babies...

This article made me so sad.

That's a tragedy all the way around.

Weeattoes, they say she was arrested because she refused to leave the hospital after they told her nothing was wrong with her.

crappy reporting...they dont say anything about why she was charged with trespassing

maybe she was acting like a maniac in the hospital and putting others at risk

The last time I was in the ER the doc told me there was nothing wrong with me. He acted like I was crazy. Maybe I should have acted crazy! Turns out I was right and there WAS a medical problem but it wasn't life-threatening like blood clots - luckily.

If she wasn't a risk to anyone but they thought she was crazy, they should have had her admitted to behavioral health instead of arresting her. THEN they might have realized that she wasn't crazy and WAS sick!

a reporter saying she "refused to leave" is just too vague for me and forces most readers to make assumptions

    lousy reporting

Dammit, why do these poor people keep cluttering up our hospitals? Can't they just crawl off somewhere and die? Good thing she didn't have insurance. One of those fine companies might have had to take the time to refuse treatment for her, thus wasting a minute or two of someone's time.
And let's make sure we vote republican so they can fix our medicare to guarantee those old people quit sucking off it.
