Seeing it for the first time back in 1993 it was awe inspiring but IMHO far from the best movie ever made although it’s the best of the genre which includes movies like: Carnosaur (1993) Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959) Lost World (1960) One Million Years BC (1966) The Valley of Gwangi (1969) Hotwater
Tremors is awesome. My uncle still talks about that movie to this day lol. Its soooo funny if you don't take it seriously.
HAHA I know!! That movie kills me and I love to randomly throw it out into conversation with friends. it always gets a laugh
Jurassic Park was way ahead of it's time The special effects in that movie look better than alot of the modern ones
right? I think that the animatronics had alot to do with it. So little was computer genearted like nowadays
Jurassic Park: They find some Reptilian [nephilim] specimen extract DNA and make copies the message of the movie is like the rumors of space-alien DNA being engineered suddenly all the earth foods are engineered atmosphere altered all to suit the new species ? Sounds like it could be real life as much as fantasy.
it just another shitty US production without heart and soul. The story is extremely simple without any artistic value at all, the music is cheap, nothing interesting at all, the technique and art of filming is absolute standard, nothing interesting at all, the animations are without interest, just showing some more dinosaurs like all the other dinosaur films the last 100 years, nothing more to see than just more dinosaurs, technically standard without special interest.
I wasnt sure if you'de reply. Yes PLEASE ! We grew up under the Druid Spell of the Hollywood staff [infection]. https://www.google.com/#hl=en&sclie....,cf.osb&fp=5bcca3627bd7e282&biw=1187&bih=578
Ye, the topic was about this latest of many many dinosaur movies and the story behind it is shitty and short: dinosaurs made from fossild DNA that run out of control. For me a good movie is one that gets a maximum of effect and message with as little technical means as necessary. The most intense moments in life dont only happen when a lot of technical stuff is unfolding. Watching such a movie is basically like watching children playing in the sand with plastic dinosaurs. They live that film without hollywood millions
Jurassic Park was definitely unlike anything I had ever seen before at the time. The visuals often get the majority of the credit and deservedly so but I also remember the sound effects creating a level of intensity I had yet to experience in theaters. It's not my favorite movie but it is a memorable one and I enjoyed it.
So, the question is still, what is a great non-Hollywood flick? I think dishing "Hollywood Movies" has become a soft target. Especially when NO ONE comes up with a specific superior film to compare it to. I loved Jurassic Park BTW. Haven't seen ANYTHING out of Europe or Asia to compare to it. Maybe Bollywood has something comparable, but I haven't seen it.
Everybody has different taste in movies. i think its pretty obvious that Jurassic Park wasn't going for deep and philosophical. I think it hit its goal right on point.
