I just read an artical that I thoughtI I'd share with everyone. http://blogs.ocweekly.com/navelgazing/2012/03/desert_sun_resort_palm_springs.php I find it disturbing especialy when children are being harmed and taught negitive values. I know what you are trying to do but your focus is in the wrong place. Band the perverts and NOT the couples, and certanly not the children.

The Youngs should have more stringent mearsurs in place and such debats wouldn't be an issue.

    What do you think?

What? Couples only? Wouldn't others feel discriminated against? That's sucks for a nudist resort.

And what comes next? Only for nudes whose appearance pleases the eye? This reminds me of a cause link I read on Facebook recently, which said "Join the cause for being nude anywhere!" At first I thought "Hey great! Something worth to put onto a naturist agenda!" until I read the little sub-clause: "This excludes the obese!" Right. No clicking a "Follow" Button for joining that cause for me...

Naturism should never be an exclusive "couples and gorgeous people only" thing, IMO.

It's a private business. It can set up what rules it wants. If you don't like it, don't go there.
Pre-emptive suing is just freakn' ridiculous.

Adults only if there are no facilities for children or simply to create a haven from children is fair enough. Adults only places should ban perverts anyway, just as places open to all should.

A few "adult-only" places are fine for honeymoon resorts, but there are far too few family-style vacation places where parents on a budget can take their kids in a nudist environment that supports what they are trying to teach at home.

Maybe the old-school rustic nudist campgrounds deserve a comeback with the economy still struggling to recover.

But too many of them have a total ban on singles. There should be a compromise, allowing a certain number of men and women arriving solo, rather than a total ban.

And the nudist travel clubs (without a dedicated site) are an important outlet, too.

Agreed that outlets for single male naturists are too few. The majority of clubs are reluctant to admit single males where as most allow single females. So single males are effectively only allowed on public clothing optional beaches. There you tend to see them lurking round the periphery, many are genuine naturists but again many are sexual predators. Rightly or wrongly all single male naturists are judged to be potential predators. Single female naturists on public beaches tend to feel vulnerable so very few of them go there, at least they are welcome in clubs.

There is no way for a genuine single male naturist to prove that he is genuine.

Well, I managed to find two clubs that let me attend. One had no restrictions whatsoever against single men. The other allowed a pre-determined number of guys arriving stag. You just call a few days in advance and there is usually no problem getting in.

But with many clubs, they don't expect you to bring a wife, just a friend, lover or even relative of the female gender and you two can just show up on the spur of the moment.

Several of the non-landed clubs welcome single men and they tend to have about half their members part of a nudist couple and the other half single guys.

If Peter Paul Rubens had his way, skinny women would have a hard time getting in to nudist resorts and campgrounds!

And if Adolf Heinrich Hanson's paintings are any indication, children ARE allowed and welcome!

You do get what that sounds like, ban the pervs not the couples. So only singles can be pedos?

Most single guys hearing that are just going to think thats the same kind of garbage you get from the chics. If you are nit in a 'commited' relationship, not ready to hand over your paypacket each week for 30 years, then you can onoy be a dirty perv....yeah...whatevaaaa

And when it comes to kids getting fiddled with thats more likely to come from immediate family than anywhere else, brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles, parents

So statistictly, playing the ods, more stringent measures to protect children would be to cut out family day, not leave naked alone with other kids, yheir brothers or sisters, cousins or their mum

Someone takes along their 8 year old son to one of these things, an 8 year old thats developed early, then the main predator you'd have to watch out for are girls in that 12-15 range. He's 8, looks 12 and they'll take advantage of the fact he's too young to know what the hell is going on

As for the young girls that develop early, same thing, most likely predator is going to be a guy late teens, possibly a cousin, or hazing from girls her own age more

But this all gets overlooked cos the parents just assess to whats creepiest to them. Dad worries about the 50 year old single guys whilst yhe daughter is far more petrified about being left alone with her 19 yr old cousin. Doesnt mention it to her sister cos she's just going ti think its about attention, downt mention it to the mother cos mothers more worried about pissing off his mother, doesnt mention it to her dad cos she knows he is going to have no clue

At he same time those parents run around telling everyone they are open and honest with yheir kids, kids can come to them with anything. Its all natural I want to teach my kids positive body image issues. Article mentioned most of the patrons are middle aged couples. Teach positive body image issues to an 8 year old son creeped out because he,s being leared at by a bunch of middle aged women and grannies, with their husbands that are too dense to work out they only leer when their back is turned, unable to talk to his parents cos what really happens is it just gets brushed off as silly kid stuff.

Yes in one sense naturism is natural, 10,000 years ago we were all pretty much running around naked, but not today, one week in a nudist camp, the other 51 weeks of the year in normal life clothed. Too confusing for kids.

I disagree with any kids in this situation, parents dont know shit and are never truly objective. And its all based on the assumption that they are going to speak out, logic that is contrary to their assumed vulnerability.

What most assume is correct, or what everyone tells you is correct when it comes to this subject, is often very far from what actually is real, what actually happens

This exposes the flaws of this society, it needs to change but probably won't. At least there are enough people out there to support nudism.

Children raised in nudism grow up with greater self esteem, and less likely to confuse nudity with sex. They grow up without bodily shame, have a greater understanding of human anatomy, and understand that the body is not something to be ashamed of, and it becomes less of a taboo to experiment with. Thus, they have fewer instances of teen pregnancy, std's, and criminal behavior. Children also are the most natural on naturists; they only learn that the body is something to be ashamed of and covered up from their parents, who tell them to cover up. Children also seem to be very well protected in a naturist atmosphere. They are not only there with their parents, but have around them their peers and adults that see nudity in a healthy and non-sexual way.

I could not agree more. My family, and most of the families I socialize with are nudists, and their kids are as well rounded and balanced as the textile ones are.. even more so I would dare to say. A huge chunk of their education has been filled in by the fact they see and interact with people of all shapes, sizes, colors, and abilities... nude. My daughter and granddaughter are, like the above poster stated, are living proof.

I also strongly believe that if nudity in the home were a more socially acceptable thing in the US, we would not have half the societal problems we do now.

Banning kids from a nudist park is doing nothing more than alienating a huge cross-section of the nudist community. IMHO, do so at your own nudist parks peril.

We're a couple without kids. Never wanted them. We don't mind being around them, but there are times we just do not want to hear squeeling and screaming kids running around and splashing in the pool. It's why we liked Terra Cotta Inn. Quiet, respectful, relaxing. No kids does not usually mean it's a swingers resort. Many BnB's don't allow kids either.

Kids belong in amusement parks, not nudist resorts.
