I totally agree with Zanman, and I think it is a very appropriate

topic for the music forum because, in my opinion, this is where

the corporate exploitation is most salient.

A few years ago I started looking for a new way of life because

I was sick of following America's modernized cartesian credo,

"I consume, therefore I am." But as I looked into others ways of

life, specifically the "hippy lifestyle", I found nothing but hypocrisy and

more of the same. It seems like there no one can be themselves, if

they want to have an identity, which all of us do, we must

find the group checklist and begin the long process of defining

ourselves with possessions.

You want to be a hippy? Grab your wallet and lets go
Get yourself some Grateful dead gear, (T-shirts made in China)
get yourself some Cd's, band posters

YOu want to be a Punk? Lets get that hair dyed
and buy some chains and spikes

Who made the rules and maintains them? Not you.

ANd the fact that the majority of your posts decry the posting
of this thread in the music forum-Oh my word, what is next, anarchy?-
suggests that you are simply trying to discredit Zanman using inconsequential
details, instead of being open minded to his point.

 

Why are you going into ways of life and some such nonsense? Zanman created this thread to bash people who swear. Go read his first post. This thread is completely off-topic. This is a MUSIC FORUM. People come here to discuss MUSIC.

Take your lousy bickering elsewhere. Post this kind of crap in "Random Thoughts" or something... no, I "Pure Bull" would be better.

in my opinion, i think that whatever anyone says another person will disagree and no one will feel any better for doing it so why bother? maybe Zanman can explain the human nature to have to have our opinions expressed even if it changes nothing.

I use "dirty language" but, I am popular, liked, and I am not insecure or weak.
culture is not my reason
I don't use "dirty language" to pretend I am "different" or/and "misunderstood" or/and "criminal". I don't like attention much and people (for reasons unknown to me) do care about what I have to say
I don't know if I am just unique (or at least rare) or if these psychologists you think of are just stupid fucks that don't know what they're talking about
I use "dirty language" cause I am more comfortable using it, since it is honest and it seems to be more effective then being all fake and nice, with most people

 

First I only ever post under this pseudonym and never any other.

Second, there are one or two people who seem to agree that bad language used to try to impress or shock people suggests a puerile and immature mind, but I also suggest there are many more who understand what I am talking about who have NOT posted to this thread. They recognize that any idiot can string together a set of four-letter words - that takes no intelligence - but constructing coherent syntax is another matter.

When you use this language because you can think of no other way to express yourself it labels you essentially as a dunce, and people will generally avoid you.

If you think you are popular it is with similar types, but this narrows your social experience, and eventually your earning ability, unless you are in one of the few professions where descent into the vernacular is acceptable, rock music and stand-up comedy for instance.

Third, if you think this is an inappropriate post in this forum that’s fine – so why bump it?

alright...this thread is getting kind of long, and i got bored reading through it all...so im just gonna forget about everything that was said before and make my statment about bad language...

would the movies "pulp fiction" or "resevoir of dogs" be what they were without bad language? no. Personally, its not if you use bad language or not, its the amount you use it. Now if you fly your mouth off saying "fuck this, and fuck that", you still may not be unintelligent, but of course perhaps offense to the people that hear it. I think that when bad language is used in some circumstances, it makes it funnier or more important.

Now relating bad language to music...if you dont like the language, there is a knob that can lower the volume, and even an off button!

Now to get away from this thread to post in a real music one...

But I think some of the less educated are secretly worried that what you are saying is true, while the the better educated know it is. Psychology WORKS and most young people are completely unaware of how manipulated they are.

These are not my opinions but have been scientifically developed over several decades by psychological observation, and as I mentioned many have been funded by major cigarette, clothing, beer and soft-drink companies.

Advertising is directed toward group leaders who then set the standard of acceptance of the product, and that is why they use Spears and other teen idols.

It is why groups drink the same products, listen to the same music, dress alike, and yes, think alike. They think they are individuals because they are flattered by advertising that they are, but they are simply doing what the advertisers want them to do, buy their products.

 

1. If you really think you need a high intelligence to "construct coherent syntax" then, you are an idiot.
2. If you think speaking properly is a concerne to the general public, you are a fuckin' idiot.
3. Technically depending on how you "string together a set of four-letter words", you can still be using coherent syntax. Syntax is based on the right words and putting the words in correct order. Since slang is considered casual and not improper it can be used in correct use of language.
