June 21st is unofficially Naked Hiking Day and it also happens to be the first day of Summer. You can legally hike nude in any National Park since there aren't any Federal indecency laws. State and local parks may be on the lookout for naked hikers since it seems to be gaining popularity. I plan to use a trail that in a state park that rarely gets used due to its difficulty.

Ah, I wish it were world-wide, to have all cops all over the world won't arrest happy nekkid people!
    :D

Oh, a nice article I've found (with a poll, too) about Naked Hiking Day (it's from 2009, but still valid, IMO):

    http://walking.about.com/b/2009/06/19/caution-naked-hiking-day-june-21.htm

Wiggling bare toes, definitely putting that day on the "be nude outdoors" agenda,

    Ganesha,

In NY being naked in public places is against the law. However, women have won the right to bare their breasts in public parks and such. If men can be shirtless, so can NY women.

All that's needed is a thong covering the front and poof, you're legal. Bf says if he were ever to wear one, it would be a nude color thong. :)

I hike two non-private places. One can get you a $250 ticket if caught. The other is remote enough that the rangers don't care unless someone actually puts in a complaint.

    Thanks for the link.

    You're welcome. :)
Aww, shucks, it's on a Thursday... that means, I 'll have to go directly to my favourite skinny-dipping and nude strolling place right after work...
At least from the weekend after summer solstice on, I have two weeks of leave
    :sunny:

And I intend to spend that summer start fortnight as often skyclad outdoors as possible.
Germany is a nude and nudist-friendly nation, fortunately...

    Wiggling bare toes,

I have been a long time Naturist Sociey, enjoyed nudism as a boy at the Chicago,YMCA swimming and at High School in Chicago.
My wife and I enjoy Naturist resorts, married 38 years, our three kids, birth adopted, loved to swim tub boat hike nude n natural, all grown now professionals.
We used to go camping in the National Forest with The Ogden Nudist Group and the Ranger would give us the nod ask that our group try to stay in a area not used by most for camping was cooperative.
In Illinois we all enjoyed going to the Naturists Resorts on the weekends like Blue Lake Sunny Haven,Ponderosa Sun Lub and Lake o'Woods in Indiana, also Grey Whale public family camping in San Mate,Pescadero beach and Deer Park formerly Tree house Ranch in Devore,California, all great family naturists resorts, beaches.

I considered joining AANR, but them and just about any other naturist group has a problem with men that are single.

The Naturist Society is much more liberal and inclusive than we found the ASA,now called the AANR and the oldest largest Naturist,Nudist organization in America started in 1930's.
The Naturist society welcomes, singles, couples, families, children, gays,BI and transgenders, all welcome.

We were members 34 years, great organization, terrific high quality family appropriate quarterly naturist publication in color with naturist pics, locations of camps information on laws, clothing optional state camping, parks, beaches, etc.
True many resorts require couple for attendancebut the are some that we we're members of that welcomed singles, couples, married, kids, families like The Ponderosa Sun Club in Roselawn,Indiana, just call them and ask or send a resort a note asking for an informative brochure.

AARP = American Association of Retired Persons
AANR = American Association for Nude Recreation

Of course, some people say that the way naturism is going, AANR might as well become a chapter of AARP.

Dang! No thank you, I hike and play in my woods nearly every day... Clothing is an asset (deer ticks, thorny branches, etc)!

I have nothing against others going nekkid, but unless I grow a coat of caveman fur, I'm definitely all for clothes in the woods. :sunny:

Maybe push to have Naked Hiking Day made a global event, like World Naked Bike Ride. Down here in Australia, 1st June is the first day of winter. Right now, though, ending the first month of autumn, it is beautifully sunny and warm. I came back from the nude beach after going down in a heavy fog. Strangely it wasn't cold but kind of eerie: you don't get to walk naked in a fog on a beach very often! Packing up for our autumn ConFest hippie festival starting 5th April. Will be N E K K I D 24/6 for the duration. Bring it on!
