I'm not a guy, but I can answer your question. Yes, they do give a good hard erection. Some advertise as ED treatment. To maintain that erection, it is helpful to wear a cock ring, but not for too long or you can burst a blood vessel. Like plan to take of the ring after 30-45 minutes, or you could do permanent damage.

Yes it will give you an erection pretty quickly. Do not use it to try and make yourself bigger. If you already can get a good erection you don't need a pump. If you have trouble getting an erection, that's what they are for and like someone else said if you can't maintain an erection when you remove the pump you need to use a cock ring as well.
