Hello everyone. Have a trip of two blotters ahead of me. There's only one thing that has puzzled me about psychedelics, though, and I'd like to get it right this time. What do you do while on the trip? I mean, you obviously won't be doing the stuff you usually do, and listening to music or just hanging around the apartment eventually gets boring, as you need some sort of a change even while on a trip. At least I do. A change in the scenery makes the trip so much more vivid and pleasant, as you pretty much re-discover your surroundings. Last time I took acid with some friends and we just talked, enjoyed the scenery, went to a walk near the river close-by and so on, and it was pretty neat experience. This time I'll be doing it alone, though, so was wondering what to do when on trip? Had some shrooms a few months ago and it kind of got pretty boring after an hour or two, and seeing as I couldn't do the stuff I usually do while at home, I got pretty annoyed. >_> It was pretty cold outside as well (-10C) and I felt a bit imprisoned. So yeah, to cut the long story short - two blotters might be a pretty nice experience and I wouldn't want to somehow ruin the trip - so here's the question, what would you when you had a few blotters and were about to do them alone? In order you could fully enjoy the experience. Cheers!
Get as far away from any signs of civilization as possible, where society's influences are remote, forget your day-to-day baggage, leave stupid electronic devices at home. You need nothing but clothes enough to protect you from the elements and maybe a little water...what to do is never a concern if surrender yourself to the wonder and beauty of a natural environment. If you feel the need to "do" something, my advice is just walk...the rest will take care of itself.
Previous answers, as well as: Grab a pencil and a sketchbook and go crazy, Take along an instrument and go crazy - if you don't play one grab a harmonica, you can make some alright sounding shit even if you've got no musical skill at all - and if you're tripping it'll be even better Take a tent and some fire making materials and go crazy. Simple, creative shit is the way to go in my opinion
If nature is an option do as advised above. If you are trapped in your apartment, I would advise having interesting movies and music on-hand, definitely agree with whoever said you should try drawing. I've never been bored on a psychedelic trip before. Even just laying on the couch looking at the ceiling is interesting to me when I am tripping. Looking at art can be quite stimulating too. So can reading poetry.
Get one of those LED clocks... with the red numbers. (a newer LCD won't work for this, it has to be LED and it has to be RED) It doesn't have to be set for the correct time but it's okay if it is, doesn't matter. Put it in a dark room, sit there a stare at it for a few minutes and then shift your eyes quickly to the right... Okay, maybe this is a mean thing to tell someone to do... Should have put it in the "Things not to do..." thread.
having some music on hand is nice. not really a fan of electronic devices, especially computer / tv screens. electric screens seem to take away from the experience for me. i can't really say i've done much else during solo trips but meander around, listen to music, go on walks, play guitar, and try to find places in nature. it's nice to have a safe place to be able to come back to (like your apartment) but it's also nice to get out of there and be in nature. which is problematic since anywhere that you can actually be away from cities and towns is probably miles from your apartment. if i could have some music on hand, a guitar, and be able to teleport, i'd be set.
For a functional solo trip I: -Listen to and/or play music -Scenic walk, preferably in a secluded location -go to a concert/rave -meditate -movie -shower -read ( its often difficult to truly digest what I read but many things can strike me as completely fascinating while tripping)
:rofl: Anyone remember the scene in "men who stare at goats" where they tortured the naked tripping dude with a red strobe light? Remember what happened to him?
laying there listening to music is quite enjoyable on LSD. that's a "normal" thing to do. definitely take a walk in nature if you can. you could also plan your setting around this. go camping and dose after you are all set up and familiar with your surroundings (2nd day is what i prefer). eat fruit. take a shower go swimming but stay safe, wading in water might be more appropriate. streams and lakes are awesome i think pet your cat or dog?
