So I just got me some dreadlocks:) I'm thinkin about...5 days ago. Possibly 6. I did most of them myself using the twist and rip method. I had someone grid my entire head, i'd backcomb the roots super well bofore I finished off with twist and rip method. It looks decent (I mean they look like real dreads) Although I am a bit worried. I've been told me roots aren't tight enough and I should use a fork? AH. And I'm ready to take a REAL shower please! Don't know how to wash dreadlocks properly. I've also been sleeping with all of my dreads in a hat which I think has been helping. Any advice with tightening my roots, and taking a shower????? Please and Thank you! :):2thumbsup::daisy: p.s. Pictures coming..

Dial bar soap? Antioxidant daily skin defense and extra glycerin? Cranberry and antioxidant glcerin soap?

There is a Dreadlock forum on here where you can get your questions answered. I've been pondering dreads myself. Check out www.knottyboy.com they have alot of organic dread products.

I wash my dreadies with baking soda and essential oil every 5 days or so. They're 2 1/2 months old, badckcombed.
I say don't worry too much about the roots now. My roots are pretty loose, but I'm just gonna see how it goes :)
