I've had severe migraines since age 7. I'm 35 now. I've seen neuros, pain docs, you name it. I've been on everything but the new botox treatment and I don't have insurance so I'm having to save up about $1000 to get that done but in the mean time...

I am so tolerant of opiates that I was taking up to ten hydro 10/325 and sometimes if I needed more I would do a CWE to try and help the pain. Dilaudid works but I can't find a doctor who will give me any.

I live in a rural part of AR and the only thing I've been able to find someone to get me is percocets. My sister has fentanyl but I could never ask her for one as she is very very sick and I would feel terrible asking her.

I used to be able to go to the ER for the really bad (mentsrual) migraines and they'd give me a shot of stadol/phenergan but now, they have these rent-a-docs who don't know me or my history and they treat me like shit and send me home with a shot of toradol.

I am to the point that I want something stronger, I don't care what it is, but I am afraid I can't take being in pain like this all the time. I have an 18yr old daughter and she's the only thing keeping me from ending myself.

I don't know why I'm telling you all this, I doubt anyone here can help me but I don't know what else to do. You all seem to be in the "know" about what and where to get things.

I just need someone to point me in the right direction because I will try anything to get pain relief.

I will never go back to the ER again, the last time I was there I felt like killing myself for the way they treated me.

I don't know what to expect by posting this, but if anyone could help me I might just be able to get by one more day.

I guess thanks for listening to me rant, I can't tell my mom or daughter any of this because then they worry that I'm suicidal and I'm not, I want to live, I just don't want to live with this pain.

I heard recently that they have tried to cure certain kinds of migranes with modified lsd. they do something to it to make you not trip, and give you a super huge dose, like a gram or something.

apparently for some people the migranes go away completly

    you could also try accupuncture

hope that you can get better soon!

Holy fuck a Gram of LSD could get like a trillion people high.....

    Anyways, Heather.

I am sorry to hear about your situation and I cannot do anything to help. But The right direction would be medical marijuana, it might not help but its worth a shot. Or you can find the shady-est looking person on a corner and ask for some "duadil" you called it? Or Ask for some percosettes, those things are pretty easy to find nowadays.

I really dont know what to tell you, My father suffers from an incurable infection in his joints and has been to everyone and they all tell him the same thing. And the surgeries dont help either.

    Anyways, Heather.

I am sending good vibes your direction and hope you will find what you need. And remember, Sometimes being sober is all your body needs.

There is actually something top be said for the LSD thing, although I don't really think it involves dosing people with 10,000 hits of acid. That just seems like overkill :p The thought of that is just like wtf.
If you want to read more up on that: http://www.erowid.org/plants/mushrooms/mushrooms_medical1.shtml.

Also in the general chemical vicinity of LSD, is ergotamine, which is more likely to be prescribed and is actually proven to do something against migraines.

Doctors tend not to like to prescribe opiates for migraines since they're not clearly identifiable, even with a proper neurologist (which, by the way, you should see) and they're commonly used when drug-seeking.

There are a few good intramuscular injectable products (I believe they're seretoninergenics) which can kill the migraine without having to use addictive opiate painkillers (or the intranasal version, immatrex is very good)

For a non too powerful opiate that gets the job done, I used to have a script for double dosage TRIANAL or FURANAL, which is a mix of the barbituate butalbital, codeine, caffeine (so you don't pass out) and a little aspirin (to thin the blood and help with the vascoconstriction). This can be semi-addictive, but nothing like hydromorphone (diluadid) and certainly gets the job done for migraines. Its an older and less commonly prescribed medication, but you might be able to get it if you pretend like your friend who had migraines mentioned it, etc. Don't act like you know too much about drugs. Doctors tend not to like that --> drug seeking behaviour --> etc.

So the above are all possibilities. migraines are NOT something you have to live with. PM me if you need any more info or if you need to talk about migraine issues in general

of course, you could also go with some Heroin. It always get's shit done. :)

hemasa, my sister has suffered from migraines for several months now, and nothing has worked until they discovered that she had a condition known as 'Pseudotumor Cerebrii' -- basically, her body is producing too much cerebrospinal (sp?) fluid. She cannot absorb it all, and it is putting pressure on her brain. She has had to have a LP (Lumbar puncture) - and it helped for a couple of days.

She is now taking a drug called acetozolomide. They give it to people with glaucoma, but it helps her pass the fluid.

Perhaps this is the issue? Wishing you best of luck.

The LSD thing is for cluster headaches. Psilocybin mushrooms work as well. If you cluster headaches, I would reccomend a trip. What have you got to lose?

A friend of a friend was having terrible migraines and happened to also be addicted to Oxy. He is clean now, and no longer has migraines. I'm not sure if it's cause and effect, but if it were me, I'd try mushrooms or LSD before opiates. Although they are mostly reported to work for cluster headaches, there are also reports of people getting relief from migraines.
