    This is kinda funny:

The Church of The Good Earth

The Church of The Good Earth was a corporation registered in the state of California.

It was a domestic corporation, meaning it was formed, as well as registered, in California. Its articles of incorporation were filed on February 20, 1970.

All of The Church of The Good Earth's powers, rights and privileges in the State of California have been suspended. This could have happened because they failed to file a return and/or pay taxes to the California Franchise Tax Board, or because they failed to make certain informational filings with the California Secretary of State. The specific reason for this suspension can be found by ordering a status report from the Secretary of State.

The Church of The Good Earth was a nonprofit entity."

    TRIP!
That is Stacey at the very end of that clip. For like a second and a half. He looks like a Surf from the sixties.

    What a Trip.

Yeah, Dave, you're right. Any type of Corporation has to send in "Reporting" paper work (file) every quarter in each year. Not doing so means "bye bye". You no longer exist.

Existing is a good thing if you want to operate as a tax free. A report or filing is basically a statement that says that you did have Corp meetings, and copies of the minutes of each meeting, and money books for that quarter. Then a year end report, kind of the same stuff.

I guess the thing died from lack of interest. Somebody has to be some kind of organized.

Stacey says that he still has the papers for the Church. He's on the other side of the country and retired right now. Me? I'd like to do it all again. Adventures!

I wonder what it would take to get it reinstated. If it is/was regiestered in Cali, does the 'Church' have to be in Cali too?

I wouldnt mind a do over, we're so fucking awsome now that we have matured and mellowed, like fine wine.
We are Uber Cool Old Hippies :)

Yeah, I agree. And now that we're all, like, awesome and stuff, I want to be able to start making a really good living by being a Professional Hippie. How about you? Ranger? MM, Ellen, others?

It's the thing that I do the best, in life. So I'm a professional if I can figure out how to make a living at it. You too. All for one and one for all. Go! Commune!

The world needs to know about us, and we all need Speaking tour engagements. Cakes! Could you search online you who books Speaking tour engagements? Like at colleges and other places. $1000 per stop and a Hippie bus! Scheduled Appearance dates all prearranged and pay for in advance. That could work! MM already has his travel unit. It's so fine. Anyone coming with me? Zev?

Cakes, you can web search "How to Church" …nonprofit, …incorporate, How to anything. it's all out here. I think a church nonprofit would be easy. We just would need to be organized. To file 4 times a year. To keep books and to file out tax returns. Any of this can be learned. But we got to stay on top of it. That's the deal.

From what I've read, for any nonprofit you incorporate with a state as such. Do stuff, and bookkeeping, and org meeting with records of that, copies to the state. And once established with a state, you apply the the I.R.S. you that status. All done. Ya just have to stay on top of the tech stuff and keep filing forever as a part of the deal.

Steven still has the original papers. He told me. We would want to become Universal Life ministers and if we were, than I do think that we could also get a pay check, even health care, too. If if all Grew over time.!

Can we get a few hippies to seriously invest a little out front free energy? And Stay on it. There's the rub. (From Shakespeare. Meaning That which, "rubs" something the wrong way.) Identifying exactly the thing that is the rub. Or rubbing.

That's how my museum fantasy is going to become a nonprofit reality! Chris, I'm still on that! Lights! Sound! Action! Meeting minutes! Books! Filings!

The 'RUB' is that there is only TWO of us that is keeping the fire going. Everybody is WATCHING and wishing us well but are NOT coming together to get this done bc their lives are getting in the way.

The Spirit is Willing but the Mind is WEAK. We know inside ourselves that this IS/WAS/and always will be our purpose cuz that's how we roll. The things is, ppl procrastinate, put things off.. meaning to do it but never Making Time to get er done.

I'm finding it most difficult to rally the troops, as it were and bring us really together like the Family we are. Most of us have their lives together, some are still trying. The ones that have a schedueled lifestyle are Set In Their Ways and do not like to get out of their comfort zone.

It's a lot of trouble to give up your Time. It's easy to throw a few dollars at it and hope it goes away but to actually make an effort and taking the time to do it is the bigggest obstical/stumbling block that is making it so hard to pull together.

I suppose it's my fault for not doing enough myself as my life has taken my attention for the past 2 1/2 yrs. My sister's cancer, my grand daughter moving in pregnant still in high school, The birth of my great grand son. Whew. we all thave things that take our energies.

It would be so very splended if we could focus on this one thing, to channel our energies and manifest this magnificent opportunity into reality, just bc we can. If we are truely brothers and sisters then we should be able to calaborate on this one project as a Family.

I would like to see some dedication, some thankfullness that we found eachother in time. We should be eager to pick up the fire stick and carry it. It is our Fire. The Ambers of life still glow within our Spirit, the Great Spirit that brought us all together in the first place to gather all this knowledge and write it down.

It is we that lived it and it is we that must write it. Why fight it, it is something good for all of us and it will help so many in the process. We will be fortified by the Unity and the Energy will keep us forever young in Body, Mind and Spirit.

    Can I have an Amen/IAM

    David,

We were/are a church. We had meetings, kept books and did all that stuff. I wonder how dificult it would be to resirect the Church status and rebuild or congregation.

Here was the last known Corprate name/status for you all. This was the entity that was sued by the Sherrif against Larry and Tom (or other way around). The White Panthers were also party to the Suit!

    Coporate entity: Eleutheran Arts Guild,
Inc., a California Nonprofit Public Benefit
    Corporation,

If you can reinstate I would suggest possiable doing a slight name change as this law suit brought attention to a lot of stuff!!

I think I gave this to Kenny a few years ago!

501c3 or c4 is not that hard to do just takes time and it does take effort and you must have at least three officers to incorporate in Cali! But the Incorporator does not have to have any affilation with the partys!

I have a 501c3 currently "The halawa vallry Foundation" and I have to file a least the post card filing for IRS each year and also file with State to stay active! WOW it is time to refile again!!

Not sure this helps anything but I can post the rest of the case against Larry and Tom if anyone thinks it will help! But I do not think so......

Re getting back to old things,,,,back in the day you had the houses in the heaight and the AV?orygun contingent so people could meet to discuss stuff.

IF as many as possiable made it to the OCF then maybe just maybe face to face sitdowns over sunnny days or campfire nights could get old souls borning or ready for new Sunrises!!

    Just a thought!!

    peace and love

If any interest here is part of the appeal to the cali Circuit CT as I recall....

    874 F.2d 818
    Unpublished Disposition
NOTICE: Ninth Circuit Rule 36-3 provides that dispositions other than opinions or orders designated for publication are not precedential and should not be cited except when relevant under the doctrines of law of the case, res judicata, or collateral estoppel.
Larry WEISSMAN, Thomas W. Stevens, Eleutheran Arts Guild,
Inc., a California Nonprofit Public Benefit
    Corporation, White Panther Party,
    Plaintiffs-Appellants,
    v.
Michael RUBENSTEIN, Michael Hennessey, In His Capacity As
Sheriff Of The City and County Of San Francisco,
    Defendants-Appellees.
    No. 87-2864.
United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit.
    Submitted* April 27, 1989.
    Decided May 1, 1989.
Before HUG, SCHROEDER and LEAVY, Circuit Judges.
    1
    MEMORANDUM**
    2
Larry Weissman and Thomas Stevens appeal pro se the district court's grant of Michael Rubenstein's motion to dismiss their 42 U.S.C. Sec. 1983 civil rights complaint against him pursuant to Fed.R.Civ.P. 12(b)(6). We affirm.
    3
In October 1977, Michael Rubenstein bought a house at 400-410 Cole St., San Francisco. The house was being occupied by Larry Weissman, Tom Stevens and others. Stevens instituted an adverse possession action against Rubenstein, and lost. Rubenstein then filed and won a lawsuit in California Superior Court against Stevens, Weissman and the others, seeking possession, quiet title and damages. Judgment was entered against Weissman and Stevens in the amount of $128,700. The California Court of Appeal affirmed this judgment and the California Supreme Court denied the petition for review.
    4
One week after he was served with Rubenstein's complaint in the abovementioned action, Weissman deeded his property at 439 Cole Street to the Eleutheran Arts Guild (EAG) for $1, thereby rendering himself insolvent. After obtaining judgment in the action for quiet title, Rubenstein filed suit in California Superior Court against Weissman and the EAG seeking to set aside this conveyance as fraudulent. Weissman argued that he held the property in trust and that the transfer had been effected in order to carry out trust purposes. The Superior Court found that no trust existed and ruled in favor of Rubenstein. The California Court of Appeal affirmed and the California Supreme Court denied the petition for review.

As you can see this was in the late 80s when this action was still comming to a head!! Tt seems that the Coporate status was still being used for the case. BUT was the actual C of G E ever incorporated as its own Chapter of the "Children of God" a recognized federal exempt "Church" and thus able to get the 501 c 3/4 status rather eaisly. Maybe you can start up a NEW C of G/Good Earth Chapter eaisly with minimal filing and only need to get the name checked to ensure no one else is CURRENTLY incorporated under this monicer and then call the IRS to get an EIN after the articles are filed and you will then be able to apply for 501c3/4 status!1 ZEV Jump in any time lol

Kenny I think you know about this stuff too! The key is to get at least 3 officers (in some cases they can double so maybe can be done with an individual as all three positions) but you will need to at least to the filings. Not a lot of cost in SOME places but $800 bucks in California!!

well time to go back to the "eithers" where I float around and try to stay energized!!

ps Anyone still got the Minister or Bishop status?? I think originally when you got your Minister status it was for life??

    p and L

Look, as I recall, Cyril and Steve said that the City of San Francisco was going to pass an ordinance limiting the number of unrelated people who could live together under one roof. For that reason, we put "Apartment Numbers" on the bedroom doors, and we incorporated as a "Church." A bunch of us, including me, got "ordained" as ministers in the ULC. You filled out a form and sent in a dollar. It wasn't no great philosophical discussion.

In 'sunny Az' on and off. I am ULC ordained and CoGE. As far as I'm aware MM retains Bishop status and the Seal & Papers or at least a set of them are held by a Bro other than SS.

Well, that's three ministers and a bishop.. lets see any one top that in here..lol

I havent won the 59 million yet from power ball, but I am still trying. With it we will build a mission from adobe with 30 apartments a dining hall, a great room, a kitchen, 3 offices and a Vinyard where we will grow grapes and make wine The Wine Of The Good Earth, or simply put Good Earth Wine

Next to our Mission will be The Hippie/Rock Museum with all the trimmings Kenny has worked out. We will have a water well and a windmill for our eletricity and water. We will raise our veggies and our meat. We will make our crafts and sell them at the museum if we want along with our wine.

We will do this in the name of LOVE. We will arm ourselves with love.. Armed Love :)
