Has anyone on here ever experimented with vitamins or anything to make your hair grow faster? I really don't know what's up with mine, I have to cut my bangs like every other week but it seems like my actual dreads have been the same length for like 4 years.
It just seems to me that after 8 years(!!) and given the fact that my hair normally grew pretty fast, that it should be like down to my ass by now. They've shrunk up and got a little fatter but that's it.

ANYWAY just wondering- have you tried anything? and did it work?

I Took Silica Supplements For A Few Months...:).

Silica Is Supposed To Stimulate Hair Growth And Strengthen Nails, I Didn't

Notice Any Difference, Maybe I Didn't Take It For Long Enough.

    Cheers Glen.

your hair probably just seems to be growing slowly because of all the locking.. everything is tangled and bent hair seems shorter.. ever notice a girl with girly hair has shoulder length hair, then she straightens it and it's like midback?

That's the only thing i can think of, but there's also no way to make your hair grow faster, and only time will make it longer

    thanks glen larsy and birdsong!

and I know that it locking makes it seem like it's growing slower, but I was under the impression that after a certain number of years they are tight enough that they start gaining length finally.

was just wonderin' if there was a magical way to cheat heh.

onna completely different note- does anyone have pets???
I have a habit of picking dreads apart from the bottom and, while you can't tell on the outside, on the inside there are COMPLETELY PACKED with my dog's hair hahah. I know that's probably disgusting to most people... and there's no way to get it out, it's totally in there.
I have been sleeping with her for the past 4 years though.

Nope, no magical way to cheat. I used to be a long hair fanatic, including hair that I could trap in the back of my knees. But one day I just got tired of it, and so I cut it off

I don't know if this would work with your hair because my cousins have thick hair. but platting it all the time works...dont ask me how, but ive seen it lmao the old people in my family do it to all of us when we were young...my younger sister has her hair pass her ass and shes tall. cut it shoulder length and year and a half from platting it was long as a bitch

hang little 500gm weights on the end of each dread. Over a few months slowly increase the weight until it feels uncomfortable.... at this point shave your head and leave the forum!

Biotin and calcium are also supposed to be good for hair growth...but biotin especially.
