Anyone who has experienced a personal relationship with Jesus (who promised to never leave us until the end of the age, meaning yes we can relate to him as a friend) knows that the religious argument is a frustration exercise rather than an uplifting discussion. Christianity is a relationship, a friendship with a being whom is there in every way other than in physical form! The Christian knows this, experiences this, feels that HE is running their lives. We have no doubt about our beliefs because we speak to HIM and HE answers.....but try to explain this?? More should, rather than trying to push a book, old documents etc. The intellectual side can be argued and any belief becomes believable. Christianity is not a religion, it is a relationship, and friendship. That feeling cannot be argued. It is not a delusion that millions share. It is real. HE even gives us the assurance that if we ask him to reveal himself he will. HE has to me many times and because of this I believe. Studying the documents which are real or mans manipulation is not the answer. Personally all I say now is that when I was into Hinduism, New age etc I did not feel the presence of a friend. No one ran my life save myself. I prayed for HIM to reveal HIMSELF to me. He did. The books hit the bin, the changes that occurred in my life were amazingly different and amazingly good and was consistent with the promises HE made. This aspect cannot be studied, it has to be experienced. Can other Christians out there back this. Please no dark responses. If you out there thinks evil does not exist then simply look at the state of the world. The evil is not all money related. Have a good think about it. We could be living in tribes, being spiritual as our true selves crave. But we are far from that. Why? Pleasant responses only please.
Why does one have to explaine to someone that doesnt believe ? No matter what you say to them , they will call you crazy or give you their reasons why its not true , its like tossing pearls to the swine....as long as you know its true , let God handle the rest himself.
I think they meant Of ...not Or. [Insert scathing, witty anti-christian comment here] ...I've got to start doing that more often, much easier than actually thinking of a comment!
Yeah of not or, I didn't see that error. Agree let God handle it as it goes on and on with questionable history as it basis for debate. So over it, I was just wondering what other Christians thought. No response from any?
christianity + many christians + rosehippy have always kinda rubbed me the wrong way @badtouch So I'm in the -nothing nice to say- category by my very nature 2thumbsup on your friend, jesus, running your life for you That must alleviate much of that pesky personal responsibility + Since he's in charge, you must always be doing WWJD always kind and generous, never greedy or vain... right? Wait a second... Aren't *YOU* the one that posted "fuck you and yer hideous body" on my profile??? I guess that was jeeeeezis :smilielol5: chump
There are as many different spiritual paths as there are souls. While I empathize with your desire for pleasant responses I'm given pause to reflect on how challenges to ones convictions can actually work to strengthen them. I think that people should follow whatever speaks to them- though I very much caution against proselytizing as doing so- particularly when it is to someone who has a chosen path implies a disrespect for another person's choice.. it's a lot like how we don't permit personal attacks- in part because they create an inhospitable environment for open discussion. Requesting that responses only remain pleasant is effectively an invitation for some to attack... this seems to be human nature as I see it. There is a forum for Christians to discuss their faith. It's called the Sanctuary. Since this particular discussion has been utilized to further drama that has started elsewhere I'm going to close it.
