I read somewhere on Erowid that Czech Republic decriminalized personal amounts of drugs. I don't know how true that is though

Isn't completely ironic that it isn't? Amazing shit happens in our 'society'.

Yes, Portugal decriminalized all drugs in 2001. There have been many positive effects. Also, in Uruguay, it has never been illegal for personal use.

decriminalization doesn't necessarily mean its legal though, does it? often there are small fines and such.

From what I read in Wikipedia, in Portugal you still might be sent before a judge to decide if your possession is personal or dealing. If he decides it's personal, case dismissed.

Yeah Uruguay is my home country and it´s true. All I can say is that you can find potheads ANYWHERE smoking freely in our capital without any problem. Then thing is that having drugs for personal use is NOT illegal, and the problem is to decide when a person has intention to sell or just to consume so there´s a HUGE GREY AREA if you know what I mean.

If you have only ONE joint, nothing is going to happen, maybe they´ll take it away coz cops can be assholes but not jail. Now... If they find you with 2 joints, bcoz of the grey area issue, you MIGHT go to the police station, they might book you but nothing serious. To determine wether one has the intention to sell or consume is very hard.

A have no idea about LSD... But i´m pretty sure that being high is not illegal. Don´t go to Brazil though, police goes NUTS if they see you high.
