This morning in the city I saw a really cute young white woman, she had purple hair, and a really short skirt so that you could see almost all of her BEAUTIFUL legs (no leggings, just pure white skin), and she was smoking and had her arms crossed across her chest, as she was waiting with several others at the bus stop - and she gave me that little glance that teenage women do when they are teasing you, they think you look interesting enough to be interested in, but they intend to trample on you if you don't impress ... And I thought, I may as well be a million miles away searching for gold, than having a chance with this woman, or any woman really ... what makes me feel so? is it reality or madness? Do you believe that each individual makes their own destiny and if they want something badly enough they will eventually get it?
No I don't agree with us making our own destiny. I have a lot of examples of people who have thought, believed, vehemently affirmed something and some other thing, totally unexpected and unexplained happens instead. I think it's rediculous really to adhere to the "create your own trip" mentality when, if you thought about all the people you know and the wild cards that drop on them....., It throws the theory in the trash....I just escaped cancer...I really wanted to create that!! I affirmed an easy pregnancy and labour. Did all the hypnobirthing etc. I ended up with a 32 hour hell labour with a c section finish. The examples are endless.
It's not how much you want something, but you're willingness to do what it takes to get it. As long you believe that you can't land a "really hot woman," you never will. Confidence is key. I've seen a lot of insanely gorgeous women go for average looking men, because of how they carry themselves. Confidence to a women is like a nice ass is to men. Carry yourself with pride and it will make up for a mediocre appearance.
It's a bit of both, but the dichotomy of does my fate control me or do I control my fate not a fair way to look at life because they are not mutually exclusive.
Ah, but doesn't confidence stem from the inherent belief that one will succeed? Doubt and pessimism, often caused from "wild cards" thrown at someone, tend to be more of an obstacle than "fate" itself. Just my two cents. Yay, first post!
Yes but not always, because I've known some people who didn't believe they would succeed but were peer pressured to try something, ended up being awesome at it, and then the confidence came later.
