Psychedelic users that don't care for weed

I love psychedelics but don't really care for weed that much. I'll smoke some on rare occasion, but I can really do without it. However, I especially avoid it when tripping because it will make the best trip go bad for me really fast.

There's another psychedelic forum that I post on (shroomery) where multiple polls posted over a few years showed that a large minority of psychedelic users, about 20%, don't like weed. So I figured I'd post a poll on it over here.

The Johnson poll option = other/don't care/none of the above etc.

 

Theres a time and a place to smoke dope, just as theres a time and a place to eat acid. Both can be abused, so I use everything in moderation.

 

I didn't read your whole post op I probably should have Johnson'd the poll but I clicked 'I don't particularly care for weed.'

I rarely smoke weed now and it became less enjoyable for me the past few years but I'll still always rep and defend it. I've definitely had some of my most memorable highs stoned.

 

^ I should have gone for Johnson too - I voted I love it because I do enjoy smokes, but I can go without it.

It's annoying, my scale of enjoyment goes up and down all the time.. I take a break - have a spliff, love it, buy lots, smoke lots, build a tolerance, lose the buzz - repeat. I can't moderate myself

As for the question, I smoke it a lot, but I'm not really sure if I even like it.......

 

When I get a good buzz, I like it... But sometimes I'll smoke and get this pain on my left side... Feels like my lung... But then I'll smoke a cigarette and won't feel any pain at all when breathing... So I figure it's just a twitch on my side when I smoke or something. I have read that people get twitches when they get stoned.. But when I get high and the pain starts... it's no fun.

 

I love weed. I never want to be without it.

 

"I don't particularly care for it" is my answer for now. I used to love it. Lately it feels like a burden and a vice more often than a gift.

Now on the rare occasion that I smoke weed, proper set and setting is more important than it is when I trip. I have to be home, with nothing to do, nowhere to go and preferably alone or with very few people, and even then I can only handle a moderate buzz.

I used to go through joints like cigarettes.

 

I like psychedelics (5-HT2A/2C agonists) but I no longer like weed. Of course, I don't get to trip nearly as much as I would like to, but I try to save my trips as very special occasions. Nonetheless, I find the "bad trip" aspect of psychedelics always presents itself as an incredible learning experience for me, but the bad experiences on pot are almost always completely irrational, weird, nonsense with no application to healing one's psyche.

 

I love weed. It makes me feel in love with the world.

It is euphoric, but the good mood extends beyond just feeling "happy" for me: it includes a nearly-mystical sense that everything is right with the world. Weed makes me more apt to forgive, more likely to be generous, makes me (I believe) a better listener, and gives me insight into my own mind.

I think marijuana is a beautiful gift of mother nature.

Umm I don't trip or smoke that much

I like both more when I'm feeling good

I think people's preferences for highs vary like leaves in the wind

I feel the same way about weed and when I trip, at least Im not the only one

 

I find weed improves the trip for me.. Creates more intense visulatisations, but at the same time brings upon a calming effect. It doesn't make me feel STONED when im tripping, but it intensifies the effect of the psychedelic.
These days, i've given up on psychedelics though. Meditation and Yoga is my psychedelic experience. But weed has stuck through with me to the end!

 

Weed is optimal for me if I use it once or twice per week. Using minimal amounts also seems the way to go, if I smoke a J then things get murky.

 

I prefer psychedelics over weed.

I chose "I dont particularily care for weed".
I used to smoke a lot of pot, its so popular around here I almost get tired of hearing about it lol, once I got into opiates I found that its nowhere near as pleasurable for me as doing an opiate. I find it very annoying when people are so into pot, but look down on people who prefer other highs. It doesnt matter whats in your bag, its all mind-altering substances. And everyone's got there own preferences.
