The Effects of Psychoactive Cactus Juice

Don Alejandro the shaman shakes a rattle stick, provoking a sensuous cascade of clicking sounds. He chants softly in the Peruvian night, invoking spirits to assist in healing and enlivening our small group. About 12 of us sit outside on the grass of my friend Sergio’s lawn. In the neighborhood roosters are crowing, and dogs bark next door for a time. Two blocks away, Pacific ocean surf is pounding the beach at Chorillos. Alejandro has a blanket spread out on the grass, festooned with crystals, holy statuary, swords, money, flowers, fruits, and an assortment of magical tools. He hands full bottles to several of us, and advises us to drink. The beverage is San Pedro, Saint Peter’s cactus Tricocereus pachanoi. The name derives from the fact that in Christian mythology Saint Peter holds the keys to heaven, and in

    Seriously?

Those fucks, who would rail against peyote, publish a piece where the guy takes a schedule 1 substance.

    And extol it's virtues.

War on drugs? what? Oh yeah, lock up those stupid druggies with their pot and cactus and shit. But here man, try this cactus health tonic.

fox is full of surprises, among other things. I had to make sure I wasn't smoking laced weed when I heard Glen Beck talk about being pro-legalization on TV.

San Pedro better not get fucking banned because of this.... Even though it seems positive, once the media gets a hold of something they don't let it go...EVER.

Also Glen Beck does anything that Obama doesn't like.

Nice! Like a lot of other said, not what you would expect from the Fox news. They actaully didn't criminalize it. Seems some truth was told. Nice link!
