My god this is the absolute greatest music festival in the world. I go every year, and have been for the last 8 years. Lovelovelove it. I highly recommend it to anyone.

What type of music is played there? I'm doing a Canadian festival tour this summer!

There's a lot of folk music. There's some more rock and blues oriented music too. Every once and a while an indie band comes along. Also there is always some really interesting world music!

All in all, it is the most incredible festival and I highly recommend attending. Camping ticks can be tough to score, but they are so so worth it. Hope to see you there this year!

I've never heard of this festival.. sounds really cool though..! When does it happen? Are tickets cheap? Is it a family-oriented-festival or more of a Shambhala kind of thing, or somewhere in the vast space in between?

Blue Skies takes place on the weekend of August 1st. Weekend camping ticks are $50 for an adult, so not too bad. Day passes are between 15-25 a day maybe? I can't recall, 'cause I always camp. Still, if you can't score camping passes, then you can always buy a day pass every day and sleep in your car! It's definitely more of a family-friendly thing overall, but the partying still gets hella intense. Drugs are rather abundant, if that's your thing. Even the festival coordinators take a rather lax attitude towards them. Hell, I've seen the person in charge of cars/parking smoking a joint as she strolled down the road. It's a wonderful place.

All in all, it's an absolutely incredible festival with an incredible atmosphere and incredible music, and you won't forget it soon. I hope you make it! :)

If you end up coming, say hi!

It has day pass tickets, as well as weekend camping passes (which are much harder to find)
