ok, I'm making a mix tape for a friend, I was looking for some ideas....ok, so what punk songs do you think I should put on a punk mix cd for someone who isn't really into punk, but is trying to get in...so like what are some classic punk songs that you would think of when you think punk...

... I wanna gouge out my eyes. Lots of miscredited songs people...Anyway heres the ultimate sampler for someone getting into punk

    The Clash - Protex Blue
    Exploited - Army Life
Dead Kennedys - I am the Owl
    Bad Religion - Bad Religion
Sex Pistols - God Save the Queen
GG Allin - You hate me and I hate you
Weebeasties - Bass Drum (Can be obtained www.weebeasties.us)
Guns and Roses - Its so Easy (I will debate you till death so dont even try)
Minor Threat - Look Back and Laugh

That should set you up for a nice jam session. Just looking at it I think thats about 18-25 minutes worth. Adaquete sampler time. You drown them in it and they'll never like anything else they hear. Now the reason I exclude certain songs:
Exploited - I believe in Anarchy/Sex Pistols - Anarchy in the UK
Punk is not anarchy or vice versa. A newbie may believe that in order to be punk you must be anarchy. Not so. So thats out
    Minor Threat - Straight Edge.
I just dont like the attitude a majority of new blood straight edge kids have. Theyre obnoxious pricks, and not even in a funny way.
    Anything by a pop-punk band:
Well I dont feel that the sub genere should exist and it certainlly has no place in our scene.

Now after they've played that CD to hell, give them this one. Its a misfits comp I made
    20 Eyes
    Bullet
    She
    Angelfuck
    London Dungeon
    Static Age
    Attitude
    Where eagles dare
    Some Kinda Hate
    Astro Zombies

All you two song motherfucks can take Last Caress (AFI Covered it so it must be cool!) and shove it up your ass

I agree whole heartedly with your mix, but you left off some definitive bands like black flag and uk subhumans.
get some keith(wasted) some dez(white minority) and some henry(loose nut)
    all black flag
and then oh lets say Pigman by the uk subhumans, but any release by either band is worth your hard earned dollars or the trouble to download.
also GBH city baby attacked by rats, Social Distortion mommy's little monster, DI richard hung himself, Agent orange bloodstains
    oh so many....
