What is up with society? We once had dreams that are forgotten now, after they threw us into a room, told us to be quiet, sit up straight, behave how society wanted us to and trade in our thoughts of nature, art, and innocence for 12 years or more of learning about war, politics, science and math. "No, forget about being a pirate or a princess. We have to train/"fix" you for the real world of bills and businesses and live to work. You cant make a wish on that star, there is no physical force to actually grant it. Get some money if you want anything. Its scientifically impossible."
"You were talking? You now get punished. You have to learn the material given, this is the truth and what will be accepted in society."
"Stop, you shouldnt act like this! Im sending you to get evaluated. They will see if youre normal."
"You slept with a boy? You definately must have done something, i dont believe you. Youre a whore now, you will be frowned upon in this society."
"They are too young to be together. They dont even know the true meaning of love"
"He is different. He doesnt dress like us nor acts like we do. I dont want you to talk to that freak."
"She has a bad reputation. We must reprimand her and keep that in mind now, never forget it. Dont believe her when she says that she has stopped or is a better person. She will never change."
"They are from a poor neighborhood. They dont know the meaning of class. Why give them a chance, theyre just a bunch of hoodlums"
From birth, we have been molded into what society wants from us. Never gave us a chance. When we were very young, too young to even remember, we still had most of our original innocence. That was the true us, because there was no peer pressure or school or judgement. After that we would never be the same, and no matter how hard you try you will never truely be yourself or even remember what that is thanks to society. Now they brainwashed you, molded you into someone who knows what their version is of right and wrong. You know that if you sing in public or dress anyway different from their expectations you will get stared at without a doubt. An example can be when a toddler goes to yell out of excitement in public, that should be a treasured moment to see young kids happy, but instead you see the mother annoyed and shushing them. All of a sudden you can see how bummed out they get and they just instantly shut up. What is up with this prison called society, and when can we all break free? The worst part is that when you finally stand up against it all, that makes you a bad influence/trouble maker/rebel/weirdo/misfit. Saying that we are brainwashing others to do wrong meanwhile look at them. They murdered our original individuality and true self trying to "fix" us and we, we mourn the death of it and numbly go on with our lives*

It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.

I've always steadfastly refused to let myself be moulded into what society wanted from me. And came through school battle weary, but calm in the knowledge that I was still the true me, and never let that be beaten out of me, or be whittled away by psychological torture. However, it's precisely for this reason that I've never been able to function in society, was disowned by my family, and have no friends. I have managed to hold onto my original innocence, although doing so came at a very high cost. I have no regrets though. It's society who has the problems, not me.

I have all respect for you, thats what i have tried as well but i cant leave my family just yet for being young so im still a prisoner of all this. I try to preserve the original me however. Its tough though, i gotta admit.

Society sucks because money and debt keep the people enslaved to something they have not questioned and continue to fight over one another. Their are so many fucking rules to anything anymore because money is at the root. Its depressing as hell.

This kid i know who turned 18 in december is bi-polar and he has something else im not sure, because mentally he is slower. He is a very nice kid though and loves to snowboard. Last week he helped out with a snowboard race and got to compete. He won first place in both events. Later he went home and told his mom he was going to join the team. They called the coach and the coach said he cant be on the team because he is not in school and it was their mistake they didnt know. Ummm WTF. SO now this kids heart gets crushed because he is not in school but is the same age as everyone else. He can go sign up to shoot a assault rifle that will put a hole the size of a bowling ball in your chest in a foreign country to benefit a few rich men but he cant join the team like every other fucking kid in town?

    Give me a fucking break.

Society is a amusement park filled with rides your paying for to keep you going in cirlces so your brain turns to mush.

Just like in Pink Floyds song Comfortably Numb:
    "When I was a child
    I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
    The child is grown
    The dream is gone"
the dream was stolen when we were little before we could even catch it. Now we kiss our dreams goodbye, mourn them and numbly go on with our lives.

I wouldn't say preserving the original me has been tough. (although being the original me in this world is very trying and extremely depressing) Mainly because the way I've always looked at it is, it's better to have no life, if the only alternative is to have a life where I'm living as a person that I don't even recognise as being myself. To me, that is not a life either, and would require far greater effort on my part mentally to sustain that.

Although perhaps it was easier for me to what I did because I was never close to my family, and was always a loner growing up. I never even tried to fit in, which some might see as strength on my part, but I wouldn't agree with that. If I had tried to fit in, I'd have died long ago, I have no doubts at all about that in my mind.

Ironically, you're only reinforcing your place in this social prison by quoting someone else.

Yeah, society sucks. I'm afraid I wouldn't like it better if we were here with this amount of people and no society though. How about culture? I think it rules!

You still have your innocence op. However in order to recognize it you must give it to everyone. As soon as you accuse any segment of the world of being without it, you have lost your perception of innocence.

    Society has always sucked but for different reasons;

2 1/2 million years ago we were nothing more than wild apes eating raw flesh, foraging in the wilderness, and living in primitive dwellings and under tree's.

1 million years ago we still looked like apes only we hunting wild game, foraged for nuts and berries, and lived in primitive dwellings and caves,

500,000 years ago we still looked like apes, hunted wild game, only now instead of eating raw meat we cooked it over a fire.

200,000 years ago we finally looked like we do today only we had no language so we couldn’t tell someone to fuck off. The middle finger became the first use of sign language.

100,000 years ago, we started wearing clothing and women’s lib was born

35,000 years ago the worst mass genocide in history took place when modern man wiped-out the Neanderthals.

20,000 years ago we basically lived in caves and the number 1 summer sport was ice fishing.

11,000 years ago the city of Jericho arose from the desert; and with it, prostitution, gambling, murder, rape, greed, incest, and lechery, and nothing has changed since :(

I'd rather be free than walk on eggshells, pretending to be something i'm not so "people will like me." That can't be good for you. I haven't been molded and I refuse to be. To quote the late Peter Steele, "I have a right to be myself and you can go fuck yourself!" Maybe I am a misfit but it's better than being a sheep in this corrupt society.
