Happy to say my scalp is almost back, looking healthy. Had to use some otc strength nizoral shampoo for a bit. I've been told switching to a regular anti-dandruff shampoo and regular maintenance should be enough for the rest.

Def want something residue free, as I made most of my dread process just using water.

What's something that'll leave my scalp feeling CLEAAAN and REFRESHED. I have African (-American?) hair.

It depends what works for your hair. So, try things out. Some like Tgel. Doesn't work right for me, but I'm a white girl.

For your hair type, have you ever considered a small amount of coconut oil on the scalp after washing? You could also try aloe gel or tea tree oil.

The best thing that cleared up my scaley scalp was fresh-squeezed aloe

I just got a leaf, squeezed out all the goo, rubbed a bunch into my scalp and left it for 10-30 min before showering

I put the rest in a jar in the fridge and used it every other shower till it was gone

Hmmm, I have tea trea oil.

The way it was explained to me,

my head had trouble airing out the oils, so the build-up caused itch, and the itching made it worse, way worse.

Wouldn't tea-trea oil then just make it more oily again? Perhaps if I only leave it on overnight? How exactly does this stuff help the scalp? Would be interesting to know.

T Gel uh? I thought you guys were going to say Dr. Bronners or something. ;)
