    OPERATING PLAN
    for
    OCALA RAINBOW FAMILY 2012
    JANUARY 30 – MARCH 3, 2012
    SEMINOLE RANGER DISTRICT
    OCALA NATIONAL FOREST



    1. General vehicle parking is permitted linearly on the east side of FR 73. All vehicles parked along roads must park with all four wheels off the right-of-way. Gathering participants on site will inform new arrivers as to where to park vehicles.

    2. The 52 Landing Day Use area will remain open to the general public throughout the gathering. The 52 Landing Primitive camp area will also remain open to the public. This area is designated for camping up to 4 days with 5 persons/2 tents/2 vehciles per site.

    3. Bus Village is located linearly on FR 18 on the south side of the road only, to allow for the safe egress and ingress of emergency vehicles.

    4. No camping is permitted within 300’ of the Florida National Scenic Trail.

    5. All excavations must occur in common areas such as kitchens, CALM, bus village, etc. with the exception of main circle and latrines.

    6. No camping or digging is permitted within 300’ of the mean high water mark of any body of water.

    7. Campfires must be attended at all times.

    8. Participants may obtain drinking water from Farles Prairie Day Use and Big Scrub Area. To minimize the impact on the recreation area, promptly leave the area after getting water.

    9. Water within the permitted area may be used for a variety of activities, not to exclude swimming.

    10. Only dead and down wood may be used for fires.

    11. Trash, after recycling, will be removed from the site on a daily basis and not allowed to gather or become feeding areas for local bears.

    12. Owners of vehicles will comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations concerning the disposal of gray/black water.

    13. Participants must adhere to the food storage restriction order regarding substances that may attract bears.

    14. There will be a point of contact available daily.
