Getting into this swanky scene and I would like to know where the best places to start are? I've been to almost nothing, really. But I want to go to EVERYTHING! Which leads me to make this thread, where would be the best place to start for this alberta girl? I kind of want to start small, but I'd rather start good. Your advice is superbly appreciated! :daisy:
Go to burning man...i am going you can go to burningman.com and find out ticket information and other stuff if you interested.
That's one of the ones my heart burns for! Man I've only seen pictures, but it looks beautiful! I really REALLY want to but I'm not sure this year is my year. I'm one of those student-y types. You know, low income and all. We'll see.
I heard of the North Country Fair in northern Alberta.. I'm going to that this summer. How far are you willing to go?
May I suggest Evolve Festival, in Nova Scotia? I've always wanted to go and am hoping this will be my year to go as well Their website: http://www.evolvefestival.com/
Well here in Saskatchewan we have a festival every third weekend of July called the Ness Creek Festival in (or close to) Big River. Tickets are only like $80 for the four day festival, or volunteering gets you in free for something like 3 hours of work each day (or night). Heres their website http://www.nesscreek.com/ This will be my third year, and beleive me, you dont want to miss it.:2thumbsup:
Festivals are nothing less than abundant in Edmonton during the summer. Have you been to the street performers festival? The Fringe? Those are examples of good places to start with some amazing people. I'm still getting into this scene too (been a university student for 6 years with 2 kids haha I've lived in text books for years!), but those are always my fav!
