I am uncircumcised & generally only use lube if I'm using my FleshLight, in which case it's essential. However, if on the rare occasion I choose to masturbate whilst in the bath, I usually enjoy getting myself really lathered up with soap acting as lube - although this in not required.

Regarding circumcised men, though, I find it curious that some find it essential to use lube of some sort - even if it's only saliva, whereas others don't.

Perhaps it's down to masturbation technique. After all, although the glans contain the vast majority of the nerve endings, it is not essential to make contact with it while masturbating. You can simply concentrate on the shaft, if you wish, and still achieve a climax.

It's strange that the general view seems to be that nearly all men produce precum, but I don't, and out of all the men I've been with, only one of them has produced any so, in reality, unfortunately it seems to be quite a rarity.

 

i almost never precum, and when i do it would not be enough to use for lubrication. i'm circumcised and while i think lube makes it better (more realistic) it is in no way required and i do often do it without as well. so i can only conclude that everyone in this thread is wrong.

also, guys aren't "supposed to" masturbate at all. they're supposed to have sex with and impregnate every female they can in order to maximize reproduction. humans have pretty much moved beyond that though, so it just makes sense to masturbate, in whatever way gives you the most pleasure (excluding extreme cases like masturbating on a playground, etc.)

I would disagree with this point of view as well.

While it is obviously true that procreation is the primary purpose of (discounting urination, of course) the sexual organs, it is also a fact that many other higher order mammals masturbate regularly. From the actions of the primates that we are all familiar with even to whales, who will draw their penis along a shoreline of smooth pebbles. This demonstrates that it is driven purely by instinct, and not even something for which self awareness is required.

I'm circumcised, and don't use lube. The technique I use is pressing on the upper part of the penis repeatedly. the only times i've ever given myself any sort of friction damage were when i was using lube. without, it seems like it would be hard to do any damage unless i was doing something seriously wrong.
