It seems like CNN has blurred the line (intentionally) between the hacker group Anonymous and protesting activists who might wear the Fawkes mask.

Not everyone who wears the Fawkes mask is part of Anonymous-

Nor, are all protesters and activists part of the Occupy Movement; no matter how hard the lame-stream media, and others, may try to lump them all together.

 

I noticed the same thing. I also doubt everyone doing live feed video is Anonymous either but they tried to make that seem that way. Either they don't get it, or are purposely slurring the distinction making it all the same group.

I vote that certain unnamed cops should be cuffed and pepper sprayed just like they did those kids, but in the homes of the cops.

Police brutality is not a joke, but the ridiculousness of the situation is a joke. Largely it's because of the cop's apathetic expression. "Ugh another Monday and the chief won't stop riding my ass until the hippies are off the Dean's lawn." Plus it works for them since /b/ hates hippies (and everyone else). Joke or not, it still makes the cops look ridiculous.

True, but that's kind of the point. The Anonymous hackers, by definition, are anonymous and hide amongst others. Kind of like Spartacus.

 

Well, in a sense they are. Occupy was an Anonymous Op, so anyone who joined the occupy cause has taken up the banner of Anonymous to fight for the people. We are all Anonymous. That's the point. We maybe not know or even have contact with one another. But we see what is going on and we have made a decision that it is time for us to stand up together and fight. We all have different skills, not all of us can hack government security contractors or provide medical support at protests. But we can rally all the others around us who know the system is corrupt and together we can find a way to help the cause.
Anyone who has ever seen an occupy poster or watched an Anonymous video and thought "That is exactly right," they are already Anonymous and must make a conscious decision in themselves to stand up and fight.

So I think it's good that CNN didn't stress a distinction between those who are hackers and those who are protesters. We're all standing up together as one people.

Then there are those who are not so anonymous. I'm thinking of the many various unions; other activist groups such as the Veterans For Peace and The Granny Peace Brigade; the high profile Civil Rights people; etc.
