No offence to our American cousins or anything, but I guess you guys don't know about Mornington Crescent, do you?

It would be kinda difficult to expect you to join in, seeing how you don't know the game and all. But by all means watch from the sidelines for a bit, I'm sure you'll pick it up in time, and when you think you've got the hang of it then do please feel free to have a go if you wish. If you should make an impermissible play, we'll try to explain where you're going wrong.

I'll start with a nice easy play, offering lots of possible responses:

It's a game based on the London Transport system ... it's a bit complex to explain, but if you watch the experienced players I'm sure you'll pick it up as we go along.

As you see, so far I played a nice general opening move at Farrnigdon; Lunatic chose to run us just a couple of stops along the Circle (or Hammersmith and City) to Moorgate, and I've used the Northern Line to take us way out to Colindale.

You may find it helps if you have a map of the London Underground to hand .. there's one in most pocket diaries these days, ya know?

OK ... feel free to join in when you think you understand how to play.

Now all we need is one or two more experienced players ...

It's a bit more complicated than that, Rutz. Watch for a while once the experienced players get going, and you'll see what I mean.

Ha ha! We've got a player who understands the finer points of strategy! But you reckoned without this:

    COVENT GARDEN!

There ... get out of that one if you can!

Cute ... Except I'm gonna challenge that play because it infringes the rule that doesn't allow you to alight from the Piccadilly line at King's Cross St Pancras on a Monday Morning; and if you say you went the other way (via South Kensington) then your Circle Line train would have inevitably stopped at Edgware Road and as we all know, Baker Street is beyond Edgware Road.

So ... you gonna try to justify? Or are you gonna make a penalty play to the nearest convenient major interchange? :daisy:
