    Hi Forum,
I am watching a program on TV called "My Daughter The Teenage Nudist" and these two people around 18 are trying to promote a healthy positive body image, but especially for women. As they hand out leaflets for a naked tea party, a police man was nearby and the woman thought that if the man took off his top and gave out leaflets, it would be fine, but if she did the same she might get arrested. So they both took their tops off to see and soon enough the policeman came by and said that it is a matter of indecency (because it is not illegal to be naked on the streets of England). She got very upset because for a man it's alright, but for a woman to be naked it's considered 'offensive'.

I am seriously considering becoming a nudist!! Maybe only part-time but I feel so empowered right now and I feel like we should stand up for this. I think women should be allowed to go topless on the streets if they want to. If it's a sunny day and people are picnicking, men do it all the time.

Imagine how free and happy the world would be if we didn't have the burden of clothes and labels (imagine how awesome it'd be if it was hot enough in UK in the first place).

    CrabbyPaws, you are absolutely right!
People definitely should not be consider indecent just because they want to convey a positive body image. And why should we consider the view of a topless woman abnormal while men may take off their shirts whenever they want.
Good to hear that you've decided to become a nudist. Good luck.

The standard argument against is that men like to admire a woman's breasts. But isn't it equally true that women admire a man's chest? Why is the latter as innocent as apple pie while the former is tantamount to the original sin in the garden of Eden?

Exactly. Girls like to see men's abs as well, that doesn't mean it will turn into a big orgy. In fact I think if it were allowed, people would get used to it and it wouldn't phase anyone.

I started being a nudist as a teenager also. I totally agree, there is nothing more relaxing and liberating than being nude. It doesn't always have to have a sexual connotation either.

Greater Manchester Police and common sense are not known to be used in the same sentence very often.

    I completely agree.
I see women walk around a lot in the summer with just sports bras on, but never anything less.

I love being free and nude :)
Well... in the summer, at least :(

England, like Australia, is a bit backward, isn't it.
The teen years are the best for dipping your toes into naturism; just have to be aware of peer group pressures that could potentially influence/derail your efforts. Just get it all off in your own private free time and push away the concerns of others.

Nothing is offensive or indecent about the female body, after all, genitals are inside, not 'out there' for all the world to see. For guys though it's very different and exposing the tackle is likely to result in a tackle from the constabulary. Bloody laws. At least people get the idea now why I've been a nude beach goer for so many years!

I began as a teen exploring nudism on my own during summers when my mother and father worked. I stayed home alone and through self exploration and this teen hormone driven need to expose and get to know myself better I became a closet nudist for many years. my parents were prudes and were only EVER nude to procreate or shower, no other times was it ever allowed.

Now after all these years I'm happily married to a woman for 22 years who shares my love of nudism and we have raised all three of our kids in the nudist lifestyle and my kids have no issues about their or our bodies, they all understand and know what their bodies are for and have a very healthy attitude toward everything, they are well rounded well adjusted young people and I"m so glad I didn't raise them prudish like my parents tried to do with me.
