So why does this happen when I'm really stoned?

I was really stoned last night and my head was fucking with me. Like everything repeated itself; conversations, movements, etc. This wasn't the first time it happened, but like why does it happen? Has anyone else had this happen?

Sativas mess with your mind, indicas are body high. Idk if you know that or not.

 

Wait what are the differences? Like it's weed right or is it laced? Like the music was fucking with my brain too. It was nice, I did get paranoid, but aside from that it was glorious.

 

Yes they are both weed. Indicas give you a body high and sativas give you a head high. Sometimes the bud is like 60/40 mix or half indica half sativa etc...
It was most likely not laced.
So yea, probably smoked a sativa, maybe a little to much or somethin

Or also if I get super high, it will feel like I imagined whatever just happened...Like I can say a word and less than 1 second later it will feel like I just imagined that shit. When I first started smoking it kinda startled me a little... But now I love it.

 

That happens to my girlfriend thats why she wont smoke weed and doesnt really like it. It trips out her mind she will get up like 6 times in an hour span of a movie to turn it off cuz she thinks its done. She thinks stuff that happens didnt or that shes in a time loop or sometin usually off smokin barely any.

Here is the long but accurate answer:

Cannabinoids like THC act as agonists (chemicals that "turn on receptors") for the CB1 receptors in the brain. These receptors are known to be inhibitory. That is, where they are located in the brain, they function to 'turn down the fountain' of any neurotransmitters which may be travelling through the neuron on which the CB1 receptor is planted on.

It happens to be the CB1 receptors are present in many parts of the brain, but for our discussion, note that they exist strongly in the Cerebellum (the little bulb on the back part of the brain) and in areas associated with memory. Now, these areas of the brain primarily use the neurotransmitter called Acetylcholine to send messages. Thus, an event is sensed and to be processed by the higher part of the brain, acetylcholine "pumps" down the line of neurons to send the message.

When a CB1 receptor is activated, it causes "gaps" or "slowing down" of the normal Acetylcholine transmission. What does this cause? Memory and cognitive disruptions. This is why you feel like things are 'novel' or 'new' AS WELL as why things seem to 'repeat' or have 'nostalgia' to them.

haha. Hey! I worked hard to try to simplify it down actually. The mechanism of action of Cannabinoids is INCREDIBLY complex compared to other drugs. In fact, the Cannabinoids are the most complex drugs I have studied other than (possibly) 5-HT2A agonist psychedelics (LSD, shrooms, mescaline). That is why the effects of Cannabis are so wide and sometimes contradictory.

 

My friend always gets 60%+ sativa, i never really get a body high, always the head high. When i smoke too much i get migraines and my heart races, but that's when i smoke continuously.. But yeah, you were BAKED! lol gotta learn to love it and enjoy the ride
