Ive been trying to figure out some ways to make money at the festival so i can end up going to some this summer that isn't too illegal. Been there and done the whole drug thing and don't care to do it anymore.

Right now all i can think of is
    Smokes
    Lighters
    Pipes
    Brunt DVD's and CD's

Any help with ideas would be much appreciated

Well if you weren't a dude, I'd say get yourself a massage table and charge like a buck per minute. I knew a massage therapist (a rather handsome young lady) who made a ridiculous amount of money at festivals giving rub downs.

My former room mate made some sick cash one time selling trash bags as parkas during a down pour, so he always takes a roll of trash bags with him to every outdoor show he goes to - takes it right into the venue no matter the forecast.

Not to be sexist but I have observed that among my female friends, invariable one of them it seems will buy a handmade purse, tote or bag. And my male friends will invariably succumb to the sticker guy. Depending on the festival - good beer will always make you money, but that can be cumbersome and I've seen the popo come down as hard on dudes selling fat tire as they would if they were selling drugs. I have spent insane amounts of money on drinkable beer when it became scarce - and it always does with my drunk ass friends around.

There was a guy at a music festival once, that was hiring out his motorized esxy/cooler box. You sat on it and drove it like a 4 wheeler. People where just way to fucked to be bothered walking so they would hire it out and take the drinks and billy with them.

If you have people demonstrating poi, you could sell a bunch of poi equipment. I've seen friends do that.

Or, if you organize a drumming circle you would sell handcraft instruments.

But I think you're looking to do something cheap and quick.

OH! I purchase a hairwrap when I went to a festival! It's girlie but makes money!

I've never tried this to verify its effectiveness, but lots of people are looking for over-the-counter drugs that they may have forgotten to bring from home... like acetaminophen, ibuprofen, Imodium, shit like that... you could buy big bottles of Tylenol for example from Costco and sell them for $.50-$1 a pill... lots of people looking to soothe those minor aches and pains after a long night of dancing, or to get rid of a hangover headache...

In my experience there is very little money to be made by being a non-permit vendor, unless you are selling illegal things. The best way I've found is selling t-shirts. There is a good profit to be made if you can get a good cheap source to print them up. Talk to other people who sell their t shirts at festivals and ask them about help with quantities, and pricing. I've never personally done this, but friends have had success.
This is a good method because you can cruse the campgrounds with just a t-shirt on and a back pack full of the same shirts in different sizes. Its hard to get busted this way. Go around making conversation, or just asking if people want to check out some t-shirts. Be prepared to be offered lots of trades.

As far as cigs, blunts, beer, pipes, the market is flooded as it is because anyone can easily buy and resell these things. Hemp jewelry, wire wraps, and glass art are also flooded markets. With stickers, patches, pins there is a low sale rate and a bad profit margen(unless you can create them yourself).

You probably don't want to be selling food. There are only two good times to make and sell food. Early morning, before most vendors wake, through breakfast, and late night after the last few bands are ending. So you have to wake up early and probably miss late night sets. I say this because the average festival goer will have too much/too little time/energy/money to walk all the way back to the camp grounds during lunch and dinner to buy food from you. They will want to cook up some of the food they brought with them, or hit up a convenient permit vendor who have a great selection. Depending on your location you could get a steady customer base especially through breakfast. But if you are non-permit food vending you are just sitting ducks for security. Get a line going and you are likely to get shut down. Get shut down twice and your're probably going to be asked to leave the festival grounds.

The system that has always worked for me is make money before the festivals. Get an internet business going if you want to be on the road. Get a pickup truck and an open trailer so you can pick up and sell scrap metal as you cross the country. Work September through April, and live as frugally as possible. Travel may through august.

You can always sell (rent) your girlfriend to people..... I'd buy her if she was cute.

Charge like $50 bucks an hour... an extra $25 for blow jobs, and $60 bucks for anal.

The hotter she is, the more you charge dudes to bang her.
