Boiling your mushrooms before you ingest them makes as much sense as burning your pot before you smoke it. The active compounds are -fragile-. The logic behind it is sound, to reduce the amount of fungal matter to absorb, but instead of using destructive heat, use a light acid, like citric acid (from lemons) and do a "Lemon Tek". Basically instead of steeping your shrooms in destructive boiling water, steep them in pure lemon juice. This will extract the alkaloids without destroying them. You should still always eat the remaining plant matter anyways as it will still contain the psychedelic tryptamines. I know mushroom tea works, I've seen someone drink it and trip balls, I just also know that basic science trumps anecdotal evidence. Any massive variation in your tripping strength is due to the high variability of alkaloid content in mushrooms, not the making of the tea. You tripped harder despite boiling your mushrooms, not because of it.
OP 2 grams lemon tek like mr. writer said. If your going to only trip once and you have all those safety precautions id really suggest this method and dose. Id suggest more like 3.5 but 2g should do you well. Heat destroys psilocybin. You might have tripped off of your tea but I guarantee your trip would have been much harder via lemon tek
