How long did it take for them to do the drug test? How long after taking the test were you notified that you failed?

I'm doing research for a fiction piece I'm working on.

I used to get drug tested for work when I was a Railway Engineer. I had a "random" test come up about 2/3 days after I'd been out raving (quite a heavy sesh as well). I know someone grassed on me because out of everyone I worked with I was the only one who ever got tested within 1.5 years lol.

MDMA, Speed and ketamine had been taken, and some how it came up totally clean!

Lucky I've got a fastish metabolism right. :O

Not so sure on the probation side of things tho, I try to keep my nose clean, (in one sence .. but not the other. hur hur)

My boyfriend failed his first drug test when he got put on probation. He did quit smoking but because we are daily smokers it took a long while to get out his system. He knew shortly after taking the test and they let him slide.

My bro's ex was on probation and in drug court and they waited until her date to tell her and they put her in jail for 72 hours. She was given three strikes. Missing a test was the same as failing a test. After the third time she was sent back to rehab. That was for opiate use though. She was a bad needle user junkie and was on probation for manufacturing meth.

I've been on probation twice, first time was in 08 and I'm on it again now.
In 2008 he tested me right in the office and had to send it off to some lab, it took about 2 weeks I think.
But this time (probation in a different county), I had to go to a completely different place to take the test, and right afterwards the lady was like, "Ok you're clean." I don't know if they got some new technology or what, or how accurate it could be if it tells you right then? It was odd but it beats having to wait weeks.... not that I had anything in my system :/
