How Young is Too Young?

Well yes. BUT...

I've been thinking about this thread for a few days, not quite sure how to answer.

While the above statement is biologically true there are a few other things to consider.

[1] Socially, it has become unacceptable for adults to play ball in newly planted grass.

[2] Like drunk driving, which used to be sort of a joke {Gimmee my keys. I'm too drunk to walk home.}, adults playing in the new grass, are gonna get a bad reputation. Can you live with it?

[3] And how are you gonna like it when the guys on the cell black, think you're a special guy, because of why you've been brought to their party?

I just want to make one point
A lot of girls do develop at a young age. A lot of people are making the fallacy that because the bodies have developed, it's time to have sex. What if they develop that early so that the girls can have a chance to understand and 'get to know' their bodies before they have sex? Like Pre-School. Before you actually go to school, you go to preschool to get used to it. Pre-sex..?

 

Why hasnt anyone mentioned the fact that 100 years ago when that was accepted, a 14 year old was an adult cause the average lifespan was about 45

 

I read somewhere once that to determine this, you take your age, divide it by two and eight years. so for me that would be 22/23. Right now, I couldn't imagine dating anyone younger than that age. And if I was forty that number would be 28, which at that age I doubt I could imagine dating anyone younger than that.

 

But what if someone like 14 used that formula? They would have to date someone at least 15... :confuse: or someone 12, they'd need 14+ Haha that doesn't work too good for them...

I agree with your observations here. I agree that "society" tells us that it's not okay to view these girls as attractive, because they're "too young," but there is no denying their beauty, and society is pretty much, well, wrong, and being overprotective because of paranoid fears (although there are those whose appreciation of youthful girls is unhealthy and harmful, that's for sure).

Come on -- youth is UNIVERSALLY REGARDED AS BEAUTIFUL. So is purity and innocence, and slender, lithe physical condition. Denying that is actually unnatural. Take a look at all the billions of dollars that aging women spend to try to look "youthful" and you'll realize the hypocrisy at work here: everyone wants to look the age that we are not supposed to view with desire! and they want to keep looking that way long after their bodies have begun losing the ability to do so. Why, if women are constantly trying to look young, is it wrong for guys to desire girls who actually ARE young? It's true hypocrisy.

I don't think you're fucked up. You're feeling the frustration of nonsensical modern "policy." I too prefer a mature woman for a relationship -- god knows it's folly to think that it would work with an 18-year-old, let along 16 or (gasp) younger than that. That has nothing to do with the fact that an 18 or 16 year old sexually mature body is absolutely a beautiful thing. Like you said, it's apparently okay with god for them to be sexual -- or else why did he make their bodies able to bear children at that age?!

Throughout history there have been many many many different cultures that have found pudgier women more attractive, because they aren't gonna drop dead from stravation any second, they have enough stored up energy that they can survive pregnancy with few serious complications (particularly us slightly overweight chicks with big hips). alright it might be okay for 'god' (your god sounds pretty fucked up if he's encouraging statuatory) and for you but is it okay for these girls? why do you think that just because you are sexually attracted to teenagers and people who look young that that's okay just because of the age of menstration. I look young for my age and have had people in the past only be interested in me for that and it's sick and I am of age and an adult (kind of lol) so imagine how someone who's not of age feels.

There are African and Arab cultures where girls as young as 5 are taken by or married off to men over 50 years old. In these cultures it is common-place. But that is only because the male perception of the female is as primitive as their culture ~ where women's status is no more than a beast of burden. Personally I find such "cultures" repugnant.

In the west, women are stereotypically cast as "sexual devices" by which men satisfy their lusts. This cultural perception is no different from the Afro-Arabian other than that the age where men may "use" females has been legislated, and only a hundred or so years ago it was not uncommon for girls to be married off at age 12 and sometimes younger.
My point is that it is not so much the age that should be questioned, but the perception that is held within the psyche of the person that must be looked into, and the question must be asked ~ why is it that such beliefs/desires are held? In doing this, the relevant societal paradigms should also be re-evaluated, if not dissembled.
