i've had dreads before, but i started them with bands and tons of wax. I just couldn't get the grime out, so i decided to start over again. I cut them all off, and waited for my hair to grow out. 1 1/2 years later, my hair was down to my chest so I decided it was time to dread again. I used the twist and rip method. Today is their two week birthday, so I decided to post my journey so far Day one: Day four:
Day nine (after their first bath!): Day 14 (today) (I've been wanting some straight hair in the front for bangs, so i very painfully combed out one dread and did so this morning):
lol a post about my dreads and you comment on my tanktop? >.< lol i really try not to go to walmart but i went for an emergency diaper run one night and saw it, i just couldn't leave it there. its a halter and has an open back; shows my pot leaf tattoo very nicely (its a long dress btw not a tank top)
I say don't do bangs.. trim them to frame your face but so much better w/o bangs! I started mine with bangs and eventually dreaded them
i have just two small pieces framing my face, not quite bangs. i've never had short bangs and dont intend on it
The first few months was the mostest fun. That bday picture seems like you got a "damn Im prolly gonna let like 6 of these congo up to make a huge fattie" face.......right??
tehe. I am not sure if i'm going to let them congo since as it is i only have 19 dreads. I love the first few months, thats when they really change a lot and 'show their personality'
