How long do the gatherings typically run for as far as number of days? I plan on doing as much volunteer work as possible as I am a firm believer in leave no trace
Say what? Haha i have to admit ive never been to a month long festival, let alone a gathering. Ive been interested for some time in attending a gathering however since my first festival/burn at alchemy in georgia this year. Well thats fucking awesome! If you find out when the festival is going to be for sure as far as dates go please let me know, I dont wanna miss any of it! haha
Or the trolls who never come to gatherings won't be there. Or that after not showing up they will complain about what everybody else's concensed to ...!!
Or the trolls who never come to gatherings won't be there. Or that after not showing up they will complain about what everybody else's concensed to ...!! You know very well..... that everyone at ocala clownshow does not consense to a permit being signed for ocala , for if they did, the are being duped... why do you think most of the family is unimpressed with ocala.......
The reason ppl stay that long is cuz it's their home. Generally stayin longer kinda violates forest rules. Technically we're only supposed 2 b in one place in the forest 14 days. But I think the fs probly started lettin us slide a long time ago. Not all of the month is a giant party. Deecamp & cleanup r rather dull by many kid's standards. The reason I say kids is from the grateful dead as in jerry's kids. After a few gatherings u become elder. Please help cleanup during as well as after. The quicker done the easier it is. We like 2 set examples 4 all. That's our biggest job. Otherwise we are just as "bad" as babylon. That being the outside world. Plz only use dead wood for fires. No firecrackers. Put all cigarettes, matches, joints out when done. Bring extra stuff for trade & donations. When donatin ash screnn wellwhom u give it to. Many magic hats have sprouted legs. Shit only in latrines, lime & bury it afterward. Toilet paper & candy r gold. Worth almost more than weed or tobacco. U can learn skills here like hemp weaving. Bring shells. Silver wire. If u have no tent one can be provided but plz bring if possible. Plz no stealing. Only buy things outside main trail. We only barter within. No crack, heroin, crank, ecstacy,etc..mda, peyote, mushrooms, lsd perhaps.tho be discreet. When a sister says no, she means it. She has backup. Wash hands when around food. I don't personally like bleach buti guess its better than nothing. Try 2 encourage alternatives like vinegar. Help in kitchens, plz. & @ ur next gathering, plz encourage others 2 these things. U will find these aren't done even by elders. If none of this sounds very fun. Bear in mind that others see it as prettymuch their livelihoods. Don't begrudge them their fun. Put in @least few hrs of work if not more per day, plz.
Oops sry I meant when donatin cash not ash yeh make sure when doin that if or when u give cash donations to magic hat. Many have stolen magic hat. If u have no cash it tends not to be necessary here. Many of us don't haven't had much for yrs. Often if u need something, it will be manifested. It's not good to wish for things that can't help you &/or others. It comes back on you manyfold. This place is mostly a spritual sanctuary, plz keep in mind.
I will be sure to keep all you have said in mind. Thank you for the reminder of why we really should all be going here and what it truly is all about.
So, I've finally found freak creek on my own map. It took a bit of digging i'd kinda like 2 c how deep it is, it appears shallow in many places. It appears a place called astor landing is closest marina. Does anyone know a free place a sailboat could come straight in from the icw on st johns river? Astor's landing is kinda spendy. But appears a safe place family leave fixed-keel vessels. In a free place the vessels would probly need watching @ all times.
So I guess could stand watch in shifts. I hadn't studied this in a long time as I've been concentrating on a gulf route coming in. The st john's river comes rite by. I'd kinda like 2 know exactly how many boats have visited. Perhaps this could be routine evry yr, cruising 2 ocala. Then charleston could be revived on a comfortable cruising timetable after that. Perhaps a suitable spot between as well. I have heard over the years alotta fam gigs in key west vicinity. & I heard vague notion of st pete doins. A. Blue-water boat could be land hauled2 vicinity of sanford fla. This appears most southerly point of st johns then cruise 2 freak creek vicinity dropping a dingy or 2 off then anchorin 4 the duration of ocala, then proceedin north, dropping a dingy or 2 off @ potomac river. Then proceedin all thru the great loop meetin their dingy @ mississippi river again. I erroneously thot boats could go thru c&o canal from the potomac river, my bad, but a dingy could be portaged. I need 2 findout ohio river depths. Perhaps larger #'s blue-water boats could be hauled along the c&o route. It'd be great if there another auto train there. It'd be a no-brainer loop shortcut. Would ne1 wish 2 sign a petition fer it? I discovered a website for rail tourism. I haven't yet found one mirroring the c&o.
