When Van Halen replaced David Lee Roth with Sammy Hagar the band continued on with equal success. ( you may prefer one to the other, but the fact is they did well with both frontmen..) i"m trying to think of another band that replaced a lead singer and didnt miss a beat. I'm not talking about "supergroups" but rather the whole band stayed intact except the singer....and went on with equal success..

Iron Maiden replaced Bruce in 1994 ... cant say for sure that they stayed intact, but they replaced the lead singer

and also, didnt also AC/DC's Bon Scott die in 1980 and was replaced with Brian Johnson?

so I guess, AC/DC and Iron maiden are 2 other bands that replaced the lead singer...

Deep Purple when Ian Gillan left and both David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes took over. As for Maiden, Bruce Dickinson replaced Paul Di'Anno and the band only got bigger.
