The first week of Jan I plan on leaving from NC to San Diego, CA by route of I40 until I hit CA. This is the second leg of my move from FL to CA and I will be camping the whole way. I need suggestions for places to camp along I40, just for one night at a time. I dont really want to stealth camp or anything as I will be traveling with marijuana goods and LSD, so I plan on avoiding as much confrontation as possible. I really cant even afford to drive there, but I gotta and camping is my only possible sleep arrangement since Ill be driving a small pickup loaded down with... my crap :afro:
decided Im just going to camp the national parks, only $10-$20 a night. plus get to smoke a bunch in some of the last cool places in America. couldnt think of a better way to hopscotch across the states
At one point I was toying with the idea of hopping the parks coast to coast. But I would have been doing it by bicycle, and there are some big open patches in the middle of the country that would have been rough. Hopefully I will get to it some day. It's the kind of thing that's much easier if you save up a bit of money for it first, unlike my normal habit of heading out with nothing. Have a great trip, man!
thanks! ive thought about doing the same thing but from key west to main but youre right about the money. my parents are helping me with this one so I figured the least I could do is enjoy camping xD
leavin Monday man, trying to get to SoCal? haha this be the route: http://g.co/maps/ccrkk really hopin for some warmer weather cause I dont have a heater ><
Yeah, I've got to figure out a route to go from N. Ga. to Wyoming in May. I like the idea of camping in the national parks. I'll have to look more into that.
There is an annual pass you can buy for $80 thats good for a year for National Parks and all kinds of places. , multiple people or by the car.. The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass Had one a few years ago and its worth it if you plan on using it alot. If I remember right it was only $50 a year last time I bought one. I've been researching and looking for Free Camping areas in the United States. Also looking into finding abandoned towns and "ghost towns" to camp at for free while on the road. peace
