I am interested in teaching others how to live in the wilderness in comfort. I had thought of doing this while in Alaska, but the costs of travel made it impractical to have visitors. Perhaps I will have better luck finding people in the Northwest.... I spent the last 20 years in Alaska, and grew-up here in Oregon just North of the California border. The basics of wilderness living are not complicated, but many are not obvious either.... until after you do it wrong! I have been posting on these forums for many years while living in my little cabin in the Alaska bush. Now I have a chance to meet a few cool people, and perhaps share some of what I have learned. Interested persons should be over 18, physically in good condition, and have a strong desire to live closer to nature.
Wow, I was just thinking about this today before I registered for these forums. When you say live in the wilderness what do you mean? Did you hunt/grow your own food? What about electricity? Were you "on the grid" as they say? I've always wanted to learn how to live in the wilderness but I've never really had experience besides reading books and forums like this.
No replies until now? This sounds like a great idea! I've always wanted to get off the grid for a while and discover myself.
Hey this is an old post with nee replies but if your still around shoot me a message because im definitely interested, im currently packpacking thr country and would love a chance to do this.
Summer is here, and it's a great time to head out to the hills. It would be great if I could get paid to teach the wilderness living skills, but most people looking to escape society don't have any extra money. Maybe barter would be a better solution.
