I don't really want to go complain to people on this site, but whatever.. Lately, I've been really down. Like, I want to be all euphoric and live life to the fullest and whatnot, but I feel I have no purpose right now. I'm itching for excitement and I can't seem to find anything. I don't think it helps that I moved cross country to live with my dad and know like 3 people my age, but still. I want to work on planting a garden, hopefully that will help me feel like I have purpose. I'm looking for a job but no one seems to be hiring, and I'm planning to go to art school in the fall. But that's forever from now. Idk I just want to be happy.
These feelings won't last, even though they feel like they might. Do stuff! Read, draw, learn, run, be awesome.
You say you want to live life to the fullest, but then you say that you want to be all euphoric. Maybe you can find solace in this: life is not always euphoric. Sometimes its euphoric, but sometimes its also sad, sometimes we feel stuck, sometimes we feel happy, sometimes we fall in love, sometimes we dont, and so on. If you want to live life to the fullest, embrace every aspect of it, including the sadness. You know what the dalai lama said when he was asked about his secret to happinness? He said ''when im happy, i laugh, when i'm sad, I cry''. thats it. what you resist persists. be sad. embrace it! And it'll pass. And then youll be happy again and this will pass too and youll be sad again, but thats ok - that is living life to the fullest. :sunny: lots of love!
That is what this site is for. complain- compliment- bitch - just say what is on your mind. We will listen-comment- and help all we can. You are young and have a long life ahead of you, slow down and enjoy every aspect of life that you can while you can. When you get older and have more responsibilities you can't just walk out the door and go where ever you want to. Hang it there, you will find what you are looking for.
Maybe start connecting with people in some way...volunteer work till a job hits. Read to little kids at the local library, work in a food coop. Find out if theres a way to help old farts in their gardens. Florida's full of baby boomers some of whom are getting too old and beat up to do all the physical stuff they used too. That would be a hell of a way to start gardening, help some old fart and get plants and tips from them... Just a thought from an old hippie
maybe do a 1/2 hour of gentle aerobic exercise each day. some meditation too maybe you can find some activities that can help you connect with other people hope things get better soon!
Some really good advice on this thread. Get out and be with people as it will make a difference. Good luck and hang in there.
